I’m finding this review harder to write than the previous two because I liked all the same things! The dragons and their magic system were super interesting. The worlds (both Loom and Nova) were unique and so different from the type of society I live in and am used to reading about. The characters were intriguing. The plot continued along really well.

I also had the same dislike though, which was that I still didn’t love all the POVs. I just never really warmed up to Florence. I also found the book a bit slow at times.

But one thing I appreciated about this book in particular was how the author didn’t turn the brewing war/revolution/rebellion into just one giant battle scene that decided everything. Instead it was little things happening over time. Smaller attacks. Assassination attempts. Stealing resources. Shifting alliances. It felt very believable.

And since this was the final book, it gave us the ending. An ending that was kinda surprising, to me at least. An ending that gave just the right amount of closure without going overboard.

Overall, the dragons and the magic system and the world were interesting, the story was great, the whole series was unique, and I really liked it!
