Love it so far....,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Living Cookbook 2011 (CD-ROM)
I have been looking to purchase this type of software for sometime. Since cooking is my profession, I automatically kept focusing on software developed for restaurants, caters etc. Some of that software may be outstanding but, I don't have and am not willing to spend the huge amounts of cash to purchase it. Since I was not willing to fork out the cash, I kept searching the internet for free services like nutritional analysis for example. By chance I decided to check out Amazon and came upon Living Cookbook. The software sounded great, there were very good reviews and the price was within my budget. Although I did not pay the full $35.00 out of pocket, I had a gift certificate, I am telling you it is worth the original price.
This software is incredibly easy to use, does everything I need it to and is a pleasure to work with. Although I have just begun using the software, the tutorials were incredibly helpful, very streamlined and to the point. I thought I would have to retype all the recipes I have on file, not so with the capture feature. Between the automatic nutritional analysis (which has extensive, surprising features), menu planning, inventory, itemized shopping lists by grocery isles I was and still am amazed by all the things this software can do. Bravo! At this point I can not think of a single issue I have with this product and can't tell you how happy I am to have it.
As my job is a seasonal one, we close from January to April, I only wish I had found it sooner so I could have been working with it the entire time I was laid off and while I had the time. The gentleman who put this together did a fantastic job. I was equally impressed that he answered and tried to help those individuals who had issues with the software as per their comments and his at Amazon.
Although I have only sampled one or two other soft-wares of this type which a couple of friends use, I can tell you for ease of use and available functions this software rocks. My search is happily over.
My only gripe and it is with most software and/or computer components, printed instruction manuals are no longer given with purchase. I know, most people will say, just look it up online or use help, it is a waste of paper. I like a physical manual I can look at and read when needed or before I begin to better familiarize myself with the software...oh well.

I'm with you on physical manuals. Easier to get to and quicker to locate the info you need when you are learning the product.
