This review is from: Man Magnet: How to Be the Best Woman You Can Be in Order to Get the Best Man-A Guide To Dating (Revised Edition) (Kindle Edition)
I was initially put off by the book's title and cover, but the book has been around long enough and has enough praise to pay a bit of attention to it.
The book is written in a very approachable way, as a girlfriend with a lot of common sense and a good heart would advise you, and it is really charming and easy to read. I felt that the author was actually somebody I knew!
Although many of the things the author mentions are well known or popular/traditional knowledge, I find some of the advice quite modern. The book does not advise you to play games and fake who you aren't, and tells you to forget rosy stuff and keep it real, is honest and sincere, and gives you good pieces of advice on how to dress to attract men, how to showcase yourself, and how to act before, during and after a date. The book is not dogmatic, as takes into account that there are good and bad men out there, shy and outgoing, and that you cannot relate to all of them in the same way. It is a book that does not ask women to manipulate men or fake anything, just to be savvy and demand respect by showing self-respect.
Each chapter finishes with "nutshells" or pearls of wisdom that summarise what is mentioned in the chapter; therefore, it is really easy to re-read and remind yourself of those items of advice you need.
I think that single ladies under 30 or 35 should read the book, because it is fresh, non-manipulative and helpful, and leaves behind all the romantic crap that messes without heads in those years. I think women over 35 will find the book a bit basic, and finish it wanting more.
Still, it is a very good reading.
