1.0 out of 5 stars I liked the pictures, April 24, 2008
This review is from: The Second Coming of Christ: The Resurrection of the Christ Within You (Self-Realization Fellowship) 2 Volume Set (Hardcover)
Ponderous. Very difficult to read. The writing style is so formal that I feel entirely disconnected from the subject which in fact, interests me very much. A shame.

So you give it a 1 star because it isn't easily satisfying enough for you to read and understand?

When our Father created us he said that it was "good". It takes time to fully realize who we ARE. I would suggest that you make an effort to "slow down" your egoic consciousness so that you may more clearly see who you really are. Take your time with this book and you will be pleasantly surprised. Peace.

Actually I found this much easier to assimilate and understand then the Bhagavad Gita. Not saying that that is a bad thing because Master's commentary on the Gita is excellent. But just "heavier" compared to this book. But then maybe growing up in a Western religion, I am more familiar with the foundation of this work. Of course these writings are not for leasurely reading. They are to be studied, chapter by chapter, sentence by sentence, word by word. There were times I had to go back and re-read a paragraph but that's what makes it all so great. Depth and evolution instead of pulp religion.

PYisLOVE says:
It is strange that this Reviewer has not felt the informal, spiritual presence
of Yogananda that almost all other reviewers speak of.
Is it because somewhere along the way her mind was tainted by
someone else's agenda.

Do you know there is a small introductory book called
The Yoga of Jesus" with excerpts from these 2 volumes.
You may find this easier to get through!

I find that all Self-Realization Fellowship Publishers
material is radiant with Yogananda's presence.

Upcountry says:
Sharon Clark is a member of Ananda in Palo Alto, and is a devotee of J. Donald Walters, aka Swami Kriyananda. His shenanigans resulted in his being asked to leave by Paramahansa Yogananda's Board of Directors, but his ultimate betrayal was to abscond the entire collection of Yogananda's writings, music, and videos while walking out the door. He has made money on Yogananda's good name ever since and the members of his organizations, Ananda, Expanding Light, Crystal Clarity Publishers have made it their mission to trash, all over the internet, anything connected to Self-Realization Fellowship.

This review is just more of the same trashing by an Ananda member. Don't give it much credence. This is an exceptional book!
