This review is from: VTech - Write And Learn Touch Tablet (Toy)
We already have a Leapster2 and Nintendo DS, and I just could not justify forking out the money for another game console just because it's in the form of a "tablet" when the ones we have are not utilized enough. I saw this and picked it up for my kids for Christmas, and my 3 year old loves it. The screen uses older technology, so my 6 year old gets frustrated by the pixelated "waves" in her lines, but she dislikes writing, period. My 3 year old, on the other hand will sit and trace letters for 20 minutes and then just use the screen to "draw."
It would be nice to have numbers included on toys that teach writing, it seems silly to have to spend $20-$30 on another electronic toy. They could illustrate the # by showing a quantity of objects, then have the kids trace the numeral and/or even the spelling of the numeral.
Overall, this toy serves its purpose and I would recommend it if you want your child to focus on learning their letters.
update- The top half sensors on the writing screen stopped working about 11 months after we began using it. So much for endurance.
