After 24 years, of being a student with Gurudeva ( Subramuniyaswami) , this book helped me to save my soul. Being a student with Gurudeva we were forbidden to read or associate with anyone who had anything negative or critical about Gurudeva (Subramuniyaswami ) and the monastery.
Prior to 2011, all these years I had been fully supporting them with donations, and volunteer work from thousands of miles away.
Since, I had all these years been led to believe that your priorities are your Guru, I moved to Kauai in 2011.
After being here and spending my time here, I realize that so many things did not add up, also consistently threatened by monks and devotee to return back to the mainland.
I found this hurtful, but since I had donated so much of my time and hours, and invested so much I kept adjusting and accommodating….
But starting mid 2014, I started speaking up, it was just too much, the sexually vulgar attacks by devotees, attempts at stopping my worship, consistent financial fraud and asked for a meeting with Bodhinatha and other monks in person. They ignored my requests.
I was dumbfounded and surprised and taken by surprise, they refused to meet with me in person to figure out.
I thought this was my family and had given so much to them, at the critical expense and deficit of my life and those close to me. I truly believed in them, but no one from the monastery could even sit and talk with me to help improve matters.
It was only through picking up this book, and then realizing...wait a minute there is another side to the story, and that Gurudeva's account of his initiation by Yogaswami did not add up..
I was able to identify and relate to exact same media tactics by the monastery to depict me in association with Siva Yogaswami in Sri Lanka…about his spirits presence here in Kauai Adheenam.
Slowly, everything started unraveling in front me, other current devotees, in talking to them, ex monks…I realized, that I had been hypnotized, manipulated and was actually been in a cult organization.
...So this book helped save my soul....to get out of cult....that used me well for their own purposes..It helped me to realize the culture of exploitation and deception that is so prevalent with so called "Guru's" in America....the monks of Kauai Adheenam are masters of hypnotism, mind control, and for so many years we were never allowed to read or communicate with anyone who had anything negative to say about Subramuniyaswami, "Gurudeva".
For me I picked up this book with hesitation in the beginning. I wasn't supposed or allowed to.
But after reading the parts of Gurudeva, it helped me to become de-hynotized by "Gurudeva's" teaching....it helped to activate a part of my critical thinking, that was never used in the past.
The book, helped me to wake up...from 24 years, of mind control, and hypnotism. Helped me to start thinking for myself....from Gurudeva's cult programming....
Also the book helped me to realize a systematic cult induced technique and deceptive usage of media techniques of manipulating many unsuspecting, Asian born Hindu’s around the world, to solicit funds from them fraud, deception, and that Gurudeva, and his other current monks, were all in the business of extortion, fraud, etc...using vulnerabilities of the devotion of people, and sincere seeking students who were seeking a teacher of self –enlightenment.
This book helped me to realize how so many teachers, especially Gurudeva use the sincerity of people, people in vulnerable positions, prisoners who have no one else to reach to, or those seeking self-enlightenment or moksha into a business…for their profit. He was a master of studying everyone’s weaknesses and knew very well to use that to his absolute advantage at any given point, and so do his curent senior monks and senior devotees, who also frauded me so many times in big ways.
At the end of the day, I could see, how Gurudeva ( Subramuniyaswami ) used the name of Hindu Gods, and played that against the devotion of Hindu devotees and other unsuspecting devoted people to run a highly lucrative business of for their own profit .
