This review is from: Netgear CG3000D WiFi Modem Router (Charter, TWC, Cox Version) DOCSIS 3.0 (Personal Computers)
The idea of having modem and router in one is awesome but this product did not work for me. I have cox cable internet and my internet was really slow and I could barely access my internet from my bedroom which is about 20 feet from where the NETGEAR router/modem was. I had to switch to my old Motorola modem and old d-link router. Internet is super fast now.

Just got mine from Cox, have premier net package and WAS getting between 3 & 5 on their speed test, 12 was max if I plugged in directly vs wireless. Had an old Docsis 2.0 Motorola Surboard (2 yrs old) and Cisco Valet router. The speeds I'm getting on this per same cox speed test is 50-60 vs the 3-5. So far I'm a happy camper. Super easy to set up as well.

Speed as a simple cable modem is good with Cox, but the WLAN range is very, very poor. Definitely a one star device, two at a pinch if you just use it as a modem for short periods. No firmware update available through Cox, can't upgrade this ourselves. Does not like being continuously left on, set up the device to turn off at night or even whilst out at work and it flies for an hour, maybe two if you are lucky. Then it needs a rest and starts to hang and stutter, watching streaming video Amazon, CBS, etc and the down load freezes and locks up or looses synch with audio. Very disappointing cheap box, cheap performance.

look for Lorens review on here and follow her firmware upgrade instructions to the T, dont add or substract anything. This fixed my issues I was having.
