This book was recommended by a friend of mine and once I started reading it I didn't want to stop. Jack Blaine creates an absolutely real, frighteningly believable dystopian society where Helper 12 is born, bred, and functions until she is 'assigned' elsewhere. Thus begins a series of events that are both unnerving and exhilarating and lead to kind of self-discovery only possible in a truely dystopian world. The book is fast-paced and thrilling throughout, and the characters never cease to surpirse while remaining so believable you can't help but be anxiously scared for them and hoping for their future at every turn.
