The Kindle edition is out!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) So far it is an amazing dive into Puritan thought - how could it not be----
Ten days and I'm done. Few books have so informed and inspired as this one has. The task of presenting Theology in a clear and useful manner is very difficult. the authors have, however, done exactly that. The wonderful bend of historical context, theological insights and useful applications make this book a MUST read for anyone concerned about their knowledge and understanding of the faith and/or their ability to live it out.
The only down side ;} is that now I have about 100 other books I want to read. Hopefully this work will not be relegated to the reference shelf but rather I hope it will be an almost constant companion for those serious about their growth and admonition of the Lord.
In a world where the word "christian" has been so redefined to be almost meaningless perhaps the name "Puritan" will be adopted by those wishing to convey a clearer picture of the faith of the Bible. Though the Puritans sought to "purify" the church it is clear they understood that the key is the purifying of hearts. This book is a clear and useful tool - a primer - a foundation for any believer who whishes to focus on the main and plain things of the faith.
