Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mpow® Bluetooth A2DP Music Audio Receiver Adapter for Bose Sounddock and 30-Pin iPod iPhone Dock (Electronics)
This thing is great. I came across this because we just bought iphone 5's and apple ditched the 30 pin. Bought one a few weeks ago and just bought another for a gift. Much cheaper than the competition and works as designed.
You hook this up to any 30 pin device, like a sound dock, and you can link your phone to it to play music. Disclaimer: This adapter needs power. So, if your 30 pin device does not charge your iphone/ipod, then this will not work without another adapter to correct the 30pin's configuration. I used this "Scosche PassPORT USB Home Charging Adapter (Black)".

Thank you! I was wondering if passport would work to power these docks.

Thanks - using the Patuoxun with a Scosche charging adapter on my iPod Hi-Fi. No problems at all!

Thank you for the review! Does this device power on automatically or is there a button to turn it on?

Hi Krish. It powers on auto. No power button.

Does the Mpow Bluetooth adapter believe that it is a speakerphone or headset?
I want something that does music ONLY, and will never try to handle a phone call. The similar product from BRIGHT provides a handsfree profile (but no microphone!) which I find spectacularly annoying.

Hello, This is only a bluetooth receiver that converts a 30 pin device into a bluetooth device. So, it will play music through speakers and any other sound coming from your phone (text/email alert or phone call). It does not have a microphone.

Thanks for the reply. FWIW, not all bluetooth things can handle phone calls. Only those with 'headset', 'handsfree' or similar profiles will do so. Something that's strictly A2DP (like the Blackberry Stereo Gateway, for example) will play music and alerts, but never phone calls.
Bummer that this one isn't like that.

I was wondering, if it's on all the time, can this adapter stay in the sound dock all the time? The remote for the Bose SoundDock shutdown the speaker power but the Bluetooth adapter stays on, due to the charging feature for the iPhone. Will the Power on all the time kill the adapter?

Hello. I leave my adapter in the sound dock all the time and do not see any issues.
