I recently started doing Sensei Guillermo Gomez's workouts and after the first one I was hooked. I have just purchased his two newest Kickbox Cardio Dance and Kickbox Cardio Burn. If you want to see a short clip on these to see if they are your style, I recommend checking them out on collagevideo.com.
I work out daily with a variety of workouts including yoga, pilates, dance/salsa, belly dancing, cardio workouts and about anything else that I can get my hands on to keep me interested and in shape. I find kickboxing is one of my favorite types of exercise because it really burns calories, it is a vigorous workout and is an all-over toner. No threat of getting those flabby wings under your arms with these. It is also an excellent ab work-out.
This workout has a 7 minute tutorial that you should use the first time that breaks down all of the moves. The main section of the workout is the kickboxing cardio dance and lasts 34 minutes with a bonus Kickboxing bootcamp for an additional 17 minutes. None of the moves are difficult, though you may need to practice the combos a few times if you are new to boxing. The dance moves are also easy to follow, a turn, grapevine, mambo, nothing too intimidating, though it may take a few tries to do them up to speed if you are a first timer. The cool-down is well done, with breathing exercises, and moves from yoga such as up-dog, plank pose, pigeon and child's pose. Very relaxing and great to stretch your muscles and hips out.
Here are the few things that you might want to be aware of....the cardio dance does include a few turns, so be careful if you are on carpet. If you cannot do a high impact program or have knee issues, you may want to pass, the cardio involves a lot of jumping and so does the boot camp section. The one thing that would have been nice is to have had the option of setting up your program to do the the whole program or do the dance/cool down, bootcamp/cool down or all three, without the tutorial, as you will need to fast forward past this section and will only need once or twice. Also, there is no kicking in the cardio section, only in the boot camp section so if you are really into the kicking, you might be disappointed. I wasn't because the boxing combos are good and keep me going, but some may be expecting more kicks.
Overall, very pleased with this dvd and will continue to seek out new ones. They can be done as one long workout of 60 minutes or separately for a shorter workout to fit your schedule and needs. A good intermediate program with excellent cuing and instruction.
