Lots of wheely fun,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Prince Lionheart Wheely Bug, Ladybug (Baby Product)
We got this for my daughter's first birthday, and it has been her favorite present. She is a very active child, and loves pushing it around the living room. She is a little small to ride on it yet (her legs don't touch the floor solidly enough), but she seems very content to push it every which way. She loves that it will go any direction she wants without having to use a steering wheel (a result of the castor type wheels). She is also fascinated by the antennae, which bounce around when she bops them. It is also very durable, and the leather covering is well stitched and very strong. I'm sure this toy will last for a long time. It's also nice that it seems to work on just about every surface we've tried (carpet, hard wood floors, deck and reed outdoor carpet). **Update** 4/3/2010 - Our "bug" is now 3 years old and continues to be a favorite toy for both my daughter and her friends. She can still ride it (at almost 4 years old), and it still looks brand new. This is a really excellent poduct.

Did you buy the large or the small size? I'm thinking of buying this for my 2 year old niece for Christmas. She is small for her age so I'm worried that the large will be too large but after reading the first review it sounds like the small will be too small. They need a medium!

I would say go with the small. My son is a tall 15mos child and the small is a bit too big for him yet. My friend has the large for a child of 16mos and he can't sit on it at all and her son is in the 90th percentile for height and weight! The middle part (the part they have to straddle) is very wide considering the size of a toddler which affects the ride-ability so even though it seems low to the ground it's not considering the girth of the wheely. Hope that helps! It took me a long time to decide which size to get as well.

I agree! For all of those worried that the small will be too small, it won't. My son is tall, at 18 months in the 95th % and can barely ride the small (but I think in the next few months it will be perfect). Just like Mary_WV8633 said, the bug is very wide so even though it looks small/low to the ground, the small size is perfect for that 1-3 year range I believe. And, even though this is my son's toy, it is currently my FIVE year old's favorite toy as well (as in, every day, all day... thank goodness my son isn't quite ready for it yet!) I'm actually considering buying a large one for my daughter (even though she has great fun on the small- as soon as my son grows into it I can see many fun hours of play for the both of them riding together instead of sharing the one small one). For anyone reading this, I strongly suggest starting with the small for your little ones so they can really enjoy it and ride it like it's meant to be ridden!!!
