The screen is descent, and the functionality is nice. It's also an attractive frame. But, the screen came with about an inch and a half long deep scratch on it. There is no protective film on the screen, but they did put something on the plastic back of the frame. This company needs to rethink that strategy, and put something on these screens. It's going back immediately. (2 stars for bad quality screen protection)
Edit: I got a replacement, and its screen was pristine. I'm happy now, and the wife's happy with a Mother's Day photo frame full of our newborn's pictures. (upped to 4 stars, to reflect product rating for an undamaged unit)
Edit 2: Ordered one for myself, it came with an extremely bright stuck on green pixel. This company does not appear to have very good quality control. Once again, back it goes.
Edit 3: I gave this frame one more shot. The new one came with another extremely bright green stuck pixel that shows up over everything. I'm done. This one too is going back, and I won't buy another Micca product ever again.
The first frame had a huge gash in the screen. The second one was fine. The third one had a flaming bright stuck green pixel, as did the fourth. 3 of 4 frames had unacceptable problems. QC is lax with this company, and I give it my BUYER BEWARE rating. No wonder it's $49.95 originally $119. If you like doing returns, this is your frame.
Edit 4: People keep finding my review unhelpful for some reason. I guess the reality of a bad product isn't helpful. Anyway, the one that seemed okay that my wife got, has started to reboot over and over. The power adapter gets very hot when plugged in now. Those buying this may want to watch for that issue, since it could turn into a fire hazard. This one is going back too. 4 of 4 units were returned for defects. Good luck if you buy one of these.
