I've been on Twitter since the beginning and so I didn't think that I would see anything new in this book. But I was wrong! And happy about being wrong too. Because this book did something a lot of other Twitter articles and books don't do -- it put Twitter in the practical context of actually accomplishing marketing goals.
As the host of [...] (where it's all about learning how to actually DO a marketing task -- like taking on Twitter as a tool to achieve a marketing goal) - I was looking for some specifics - such as: How to build a community, how to build a list, how to promote your business without spamming, etc. All of these how-to's were in there -- and then some.
In addition to the how-to information, Lacy also provides oodles of websites to help you manage the sometimes chaotic world of Twitter. (this was actually my favorite component of the book.
Twitter newbies will love the practical step-by-step guides to setting up profiles and accounts as well as the helpful tips that the rest of us had to learn the hard way. Intermediate users will not be disappointed because Lacy gives you great ideas that you can use to take your program to the next level. Advanced users will simply have a great resource at arm's length to actually refer to that will put context on what you've learned so that you can better educate other people.
Overall, Twitter Marketing for Dummies isn't for Dummies at all - it's for the smart marketer who wants to get even better, stronger and faster at achieving their goals.
