Basic Information, Watch out for the Shameless Plug,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Investment Answer (Hardcover)
This small book, which could be called Investments 101 (except for one thing which I will get to later), has some attraction if:
- You are basically clueless about investment, what terms and basic concepts mean.
- You want a fast read to quickly summarize that information for you. This book is really essay length.
HOWEVER, watch out! The real underlying message is that:
-You can't do it right without an investment advisor, it is too complicated for you to do alone, don't try it alone, get an
investment advisor and pay them to do it for you.
HINT - the author, Mr. Goldie is...a Certified Financial Planner/Investment Advisor...
It seems more like a sales brochure you would pick up in an Advisor's office to justify their fees to fully manage your accounts. It does not give us "The Investment Answer" as promised by the title.
There are better, far better, books for the self directed. An advisor has their place, but most people could do well with just a good bit of self-direction and an occasional check-up by a hourly fee only advisor.
