5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent case!, September 17, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: MoKo Case for Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7 2012 - Slim-fit Folio Cover Case for Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7 Inch 2 Gen 2012 Tablet, BLACK (with Automatic Wake/Sleep Function) (Electronics)
I purchased this case on Saturday and received it today via UPS as I used Amazon's Prime purchase and shipping policy. The case is slim, well-made, fits the Kindle Fire HD 7" perfectly and when closed allows the Kindle to be charged. The case folds so that the Kindle can be propped up for easy movie viewing and the speaker cut outs allow for great sound from the speakers. The case adds little appreciable size or weight to the device, and allows for easy handling. I like the fact that the case has the open and close feature for turning the Kindle on and off. Since the on/off button on the Kindle is flush against the case and somewhat difficult to see, I don't have to worry about pressing it now that the case takes care of it. All in all, a very smart purchase. I would purchase this again and will recommend it to others who choose the Kindle Fire HD 7".

Is there any sort of trick for the on/off feature?
Mine doesn't work.

Just be sure it is orientated correctly. The camera is at the top and the cutout on the case is on the bottom for the plugins. I put mine in the other way when I first got it, but once I saw I couldn't charge it with the case closed, I figured out I hadn't paid attention to its placement. Other than that, I don't know of anything else that would prevent the on/off feature from working. If yours still doesn't work, I'm sure you can get a replacement.

Nospin ~ The seller may have inadvertently sent you the earlier version that didn't have the sleep/wake feature. Contact them and they will make it right... They actually contacted me to inform me that they sent out an earlier model, and they provided an updated model which does have the sleep/wake function. ~Tink

Can someone tell me if they have any issues with the 2 inside clamps (closest to the binding) not really being a secure fit. I purchased this exact case under a different brand and I have issues where the kindle just pops out with movement or flipping the cover behind it and holding it tight. In my opinion, the kindle should never fall out of the case unless you pull back on the little clamps. How secure is this case in terms of that or is it really easy to have it pop out? THanks

There is no danger of my Fire slipping out... I had a challenge getting it in because it fit so snugly. This was true of both the first and updated cases they sent me.

I haven't had any problem with mine. Holds my Fire very nicely.

Could you please look at what I am talking about here is my video review, thanks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Fhuwe4MsuM I have been told that the same company makes it for Poetic, MOKO and some other brands as well. I am hoping to make sure that this will not happen. Also how do you feel about the kindle technically being upside in these cases. When you start the kindle up, the words will be upside down and games such as Temple Run have to be played with the volume button on top, not the bottom. Thanks.

I watched your video and I have to say that the case you have looks identical to mine, but I certainly do not have the same issue. In fact, I pulled down on the opposite side of the inner clamps and mine held fast. Even with the flap pulled all the way under and closed with the elastic strap, the clamps held fast. Maybe you just got a bad case. As for the orientation, I adapted quickly. I open the case with the Kindle up, not sideways, and flip the hand-strap side under. When playing games vertically (which I rarely do), with the hand-strap flap folded under it's no problem for me to hold it. That's the way I hold it to read, so it's just natural for me. I guess it's just a preference, or something to get used to. Hope you can get a resolution to your problem.

Thank you Grammy. They told me they contacted their manufacturer and are getting a revised case that should be ready in 7-10 days. I was contacted immediately so hopefully it works out. If not I will give this case a shot. There is no way I am paying 50 bucks for an Amazon case on a device that cost 200 lol. Thanks
