This review is from: Genuine ATXPowerSupplies 250 Watt Power Supply (NOT A SUBSTITUTE) for Compaq 244166-001, DPS-240EB A, DPS-240EB, DC5000 Desktop, 308437-001, 308615-001, PDP-116P, D530, Evo D300, D500, HP-U250XC3, Presario 5423US, 5300, 5310LB, 5322RSH, 5422RSH, 5325LA, 5330US, 5350CA, 255712-002, 5400, 5450CA, 6000XX, 289769-002, 319235-001, 6100XX, 317218-001, 6200XX, 6300XX, 6024US, 5430US, 5320US, 255712-001, 255712-004, 243890-001, Delta, Business DK667A, Mitac MPU-110REFP (Electronics)
I bought this power supply to replace the failed one in my Compaq desktop which called for replacement part # 244166-001. When I received this power supply I was shocked to see that the label on it stated clearly 185W max although the product description on Amazon said 250 watt power supply. It was not sold directly by Amazon, but a third party supplier, Thompson Tools. I contacted the seller and requested a return authorization to include return postage since it was advertised incorrectly. The seller allowed a return, but would not pay for return postage. So if you want a 250W power supply, this is not it.

Ann Hymel says:
the model number of this power supply has nothing to do with the wattage. If it were indeed 185 watts there is no way it can run the computer. The peak wattage of the power supply is 295W and the rms wattage is 250W. This can be proved by looking at the label and multiplying the amperage by their voltages and adding them together. Also another thing to not here is that nobody is saying the power supply doesn't work just beautifully in their machine.
