3.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but border is a little too big., November 23, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: iVisor for iPad 2 - White (99MO020909) (Personal Computers)
This thing is really nice, definitely worth the money over some other ones that require you to get a "solution" all over your iPad. It is very easy to put on and take off and readjust if you don't get it on quite right. I used my fingernail to pry the edge up to get it off, with no problem.

The only problem I have with it, is that the white border around the edge is just a little bit wider than the border on my iPad. I have a white iPad 2 and with the white iVisor on I can see a bit of the black screen (when the display is off) all the way around underneath the iVisor. To me, I don't want my screen protector to reduce the size of my display, even if it is only a little bit! Since I just applied it, I will live with it for a few days and then update my review.

If I had known about this issue I probably would have gone with a different screen protector.

Hi there! I was just wondering if a white border iVisor will also work on a black ipad2..

I guess it would, but as I noted I can see some of the black screen *through* the iVisor around the edge so I would think the white wouldn't be as pronounced as it is on an actual white iPad. Just my .02.

Thanks for your input!
I have a white iPad 2 also and i'm shopping for the best screen protector.
Does the thick border really makes that much of a big difference?
I know you want it perfect and I feel the same way but maybe I could over-look it because of the quality of appearance and performance.
You posted this review a few months ago, is there any other screen protectors you would recommend?
Also having the borders on the protector, will it also "brighten" the whiteness of the iPad's original color? Like Clean it up?
I would appreciate any input you could give.

Thanks!

Hi,
Sorry, I never updated my original review like I said I would. After living with it a few months I would give it a higher rating than I originally did. I really had forgotten about the border being wider than the screen (ever so slightly) until you mentioned it. I guess I've just gotten that used to it. As far as the difference between the protector's color and that of the iPad, I'm not really good with shades of colors but I think they're about the same. The big thing is that the iPad's glass has a very glossy look to it and the protector gives the whole thing, including the border, a very "matte" finish, although I would imagine most protectors would to some extent. After 2 months I can still just pry a fingernail underneath the edge and lift it off and then smooth it back on (you don't have to worry about bubbles at all). It is by far the easiest in terms of application and repositioning that I have ever used. Also I think one of the other commenters mentioned this, but the only place it actually attaches to the iPad is around the white border. The part on the screen is not affixed to the screen at all and sometimes I can hear a slight "tap" sound when I touch screen and it may be my imagination but I also can feel the protector depress ever so slightly when I tap on it. Not a big deal though. I've been happy with this protector so haven't looked at any others, can't help you there.

Sorry, I have no idea. You should ask the seller if it will work.
