Perfect Gingerbread House How-To,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: How to Build a Gingerbread House (Perfect Paperback)
"How to Build a Gingerbread House" is a well-written, excellent cooking/crafts book. Compared to other gingerbread cookbooks, the organization makes eminent sense. With separate sections on decorating roofs, windows, doors, etc., you can visualize all kinds of possibilities. The instructions are thoughtful and comprehensive. The beautiful full-colored photos illustrate both the "big picture" and important details. I particularly like the examples that extend gingerbread houses throughout the year.
After my 5 year grandson recently visited the George Eastman House (Rochester NY) to see the exquisite display of gingerbread houses, I promised I would help him build a house. I borrowed all the gingerbread books available in our county library system. Most gingerbread books are "okay", but in my estimation, not worth purchasing. Based on the description of "How To Build A Gingerbread House", I decided to order it from Amazon.
When the book arrived in the mail, imagine my delight when my little grandson (who seems to run and play nonstop) sat down with me to look at the book's photographs. We had a "serious" discussion deciding which construction and ornaments we would use to construct our house ;-)
My compliments to the author, Christina Banner.
