G.O.P. Playbook for the 2006 Elections,
This review is from: Godless: The Church of Liberalism (Hardcover)
With the Republican party sagging in the polls beneath the weight its own incompetence and corruption, One Trick Coulter trots out her usual "deflect and smear" propaganda campaign. Hey, it worked in '04, didn't? When, oh when, are Democrats going to learn that when fighting animals, you'd better be prepared to get dirty? As evidenced in this book, the right wing of the Republican Party will do anything to maintain its hold on power, no matter how poisonous to American civility. They don't care whose lives they destroy as long as they win and the corporate cash keeps flowing to their party. If you disagree with them you're not simply "wrong," you're "unAmerican," "unpatriotic," "unChristian," or worse...
Look, the 9/11 widows are grown women who obviously can stand up for themselves, and as vicious as some of the things Coulter writes about them are, I suspect they won't be losing much sleep over this book--esp. considering the author. (Have you ever seen her interviewed on television? She's only slightly more coherent than her president.)
But can you imagine being one of the children of the 9/11 victims? You've already lost your father, and some woman you don't even know, who has never met you OR your mother, writes a bestselling book in which your mother is described as one of a group of "harpies" who are "enjoying the deaths of their husbands" and whose husbands "were probably going to divorce them anyway," and like most of the things she says it's all just innuendo that can't be confirmed or denied because the "evidence" was incinerated in the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history. But since when did truth, fairness or simple decency matter to the Prophet Ann? She's simply doing her God's will--which only leaves us poor sinners to wonder what sort of "Christian" makes judgements on families she doesn't know just to line her own pockets?
This is what you'll be up against in the fall, Democrats. Ignore this book at your peril.
