Family Ties is one of the most unique romance novels I've read, with a fascinating, complicated hero, and a very real heroine. Both of these characters are dedicated to doing the right thing, even though they might disagree on what that is. The children in this story come across as real children, not precocious, not brilliant just children with understandable issues under complicated circumstances. The author's voice is energetic and easy to read, with just the right amount of humor and sadness. It's refreshing to read a romance where the characters are attracted to each other in so many other dimensions other than physical. I highly recommend this book and predict a long and successful career for the author.
