This is a short book that really should have the word Introduction in the title. It doesn't really provide a lot of understanding and it only goes a little 'beyond' the yoga poses. There is so much to yoga that it is hard to distill into one book. This book introduces some of the more common elements of yoga - the earliest texts, the 8 limbs of yoga, types of yoga beyond Hatha, and the chakras - but it does not go into any depth with any one subject. If you are brand new to yoga and interested in more than just learning poses, this is an acceptable starting point. But if you have any experience with yoga at all, there are better books available. I did encounter a few grammatical and punctuation errors. I have the kindle version and am not sure if it's an issue with that version specifically or if the hard copy contains the same errors. It would have benefited from another proofread.
