Got this for my mother after she had a minor stroke and the doctor wanted her to have support in the shower. It is a very sturdy chair (so many are cheap pot metal) that went together easily but could have used more detail info re: which screw/washer went where - still it wasn't bad. I really like that the back comes off if you decide you don't want it - nice option to have and it is removable without tools. My mother is short and on the heavy side - the chair adjusted nicely to her and gave her the support she needed in her small shower stall.
I ordered this bath chair because the one I was using had legs that would never stay tightened and I always felt it was unstable when using it. Although this chair is a pain to put together with all the screws it has in it, when I sit on it, I'm sure it doesn't move and I know it's staying where I put it. The seat is not as large as the one I had, nor is it as comfortable, but to me stability is more important than comfort. As an ABK amputee I have to have a chair that I feel like I can trust to stay put and give me support when I stand up. I would certainly recommend this chair to others.
This heavy duty bath bench is very quick to assemble with no tools needed, and holds a large person like myself. I like that the seat is shallow in depth so that it doesn;t take up all of the shower, and yet gives you a plenty wide seat to sit on when you need it. I also use it around the house as a handy work seat for projects due to its llght weight, and ease of moving about.
I thought this would be perfect for my 90 yr old parent - but it wasn't. When someone has issues getting up and down it does not meet their requirements. Chair is to low to the ground for what we required. I am sure it works good for someone else.
