These were my first pair of NYDJ jeans. I usually buy Lee's, which fit very well in my regular size 18. Size 18 in these NYDJ were way too small! The legs run *very* narrow -- I wouldn't call these straight leg jeans. I could hardly get my legs in them. They were too small all over. Disappointed and returning them ... but going to try the plus size, even though I normally don't wear plus sized jeans. I like the material and quality, so giving them 3 stars for that. They are just cut in an odd way.

I am 5'3", a 12/14 in most stores, and had a child two years ago. I desire jeans that look modern and stylish, yet flatter my curvy frame. These are BY FAR the best jeans. I don't think they have a name like other NYDJ styles - these are different from the "Marilyn" which is another straight leg style from Not Your Daughter's Jeans. For me, this specific style is almost my Holy Grail of jeans.

I got my first pair in this style from Nordstrom. At the time I was a size 16 and based upon reviews, ordered a 14. These are higher-rise jeans (they come right to my belly button) so no problem with muffin top from snug-fitting jeans. Unlike most other jeans, these are super comfortable, even when snug (seriously, they rival my yoga pants). You want them snug, they will give during the day, and it will help suck things in and give a smooth look to your belly and a bit of lift to your bum.

Though they are a bit snug with first wearing in the tummy/torso area, the legs are perfect. They skim the hips and thighs, and then have a slim but straight leg from knee down. They look great with ankle boots, heels, and even work well tucked into tall boots. As a 5'3" woman they are a bit long (can't wear with flats or kitten heels), but the petite I find too short to wear with any heels. I find on me, they are the perfect length (1/2" from floor) with 3" heels, and if you pop them in the dryer with first washing, they will shrink up another half inch or so.

My first pair of these jeans completely wore through. I was foolish and put them in the dryer, which breaks down the Lycra in these jeans. I ended up literally with holes in the crotch and inner thighs of the jeans.

Since I have lost weight since my original pair, I ordered these from Amazon in a 12. Same color and silhouette as the original ones I got from Nordstrom, and the 12s are perfect now that I am a 12/14. This time, I will be line drying my jeans to preserve the Lycra!

For several years I have worn NYDJ jeans and love the styling and cut. I like that the pants have a high waistline which is hard to find in other brands.

Unfortunately the last 3 pairs I purchased have been poor in quality and just plain unwearable. Here are my reasons:
- Even though I bought 1 size smaller and they are skin tight, by the end of the day they are stretched out and sagging.
- To keep the jeans fitting tightly I must wash them every time I wear them. Though I follow the washing instructions, after 4 washings the elastic get ruined and puckered up, especially in the crotch area which looks just plain weird.
-The most recent pair of dark blue denim jeans I bought are just ugly. The fabric is very thin and looks more like a navy twill. I wish NYDJ would make some jeans out of classic, quality , non-stretch denim....pants that actually looked like denim jeans. With the NYDJ supporting fit technology, non-stetch would hold and support the body very well.
- There no longer seems to be much standardization in sizing. In stores I have tried several pairs of size 2 NYDJ pants and they all fit differently. Some I can't even pull over my hips, others are baggy.

Again I love the styles and fit technology but quality needs to be improved on the fabric and sizing.

These jeans are so comfortable. I normally wear a size 14 and that's what I ordered but they sent me a 12 by mistake - and they FIT! I work at home and usually wear pajamas but I will get dressed more often now that I own a pair of these.

I have stopped buying NYDJ jeans as their quality has significantly gone downhill over the past several years. They stretch out and fade badly. For the price one pays for their jeans you would not expect this to happen. Even going down one to two sizes they still start to sag by the end of the day.

The straight leg jeans are great and always in style. I picked up my first pair of NYDJ in a thrift store for $1.00 .... and was instantly hooked! The thrift store didn't have any others so I have purchased them on-line and they are worth every penny. I usually wear a size 16 jean but I wear a size 12/14 NYDJ. Every time I put them on people who know me say, "Wow, did you lose weight?" I machine wash them inside out in cold water, line dry and then throw in the dryer for just a few minutes if they are the correct size so they aren't stiff from line-drying. I lost weight and needed to shrink a few pairs and since they are so expensive didn't want to purchase more. (I own about 10 pairs!) I washed the ones I wanted to shrink in warm water and put them in a HOT DRYER with my towels and they shrunk to the correct size - praise the Lord! I wear the colored jeans in butter wash and velvet/corduroys for church and dressy occasions and the regular jeans for every day. I never felt like I looked good in a pair of jeans until I started wearing NYDJ - and they are SO COMFORTABLE!!! Worth every single penny for sure! My husband loves them as well and doesn't mind me spending money on them because they make me look so "hot" he says :) Try them, you'll love them!

I bought three of these, three years ago, be becuase they fit me well and looked great, but now all of them have bagged out to the point that I wouldn't wear them outside of the house, and even inthe house I only wear them when no one will see me. I am a size zero and weigh 100 pounds s o it is not like my figure is very demanding. i don't mind investing in clothing that will last, but $100.00 for one pair of jeans that don't look good enough to wear outside the house by the second year is ridiculous. I will never buy this brand again unless the jeans are guaranteed not to sag. i just boguht a pair of LLBean jeans that are guaranteed not to sag, and were almost half the price. There were over 100 reviewers, but none of them complained about bagging out. i will wear them awhile to make sure but it is likey that the humble LLBean will be getting myjeans business until the designers wake up.

What happened to these jeans? I've been wearing these jeans for over 10 years. The seam is crooked. The sizes differ. The same size 6 fits different with the same design. The material is cheap. You need another manufacturer in China, or please come back to the US to make quality jeans. You've just lost a customer and I'm sure many more. So sad that it's come to this. Whoever is managing this company is not well qualified and should be fired.

Weird Puckers After a Few Wearings -- I've worn four different styles of jeans/leggings from NYDJ and have experienced strange puckers after a few wearings. Inevitably, a pronounced puckering develops in the crotch area -- and it just gets worse over time. I love the fit, but for the price, you'd think that the company would have figured out this design flaw.

45 year old, size 16 apple figure, its been impossible to find jeans that fit, are comfortable and look good.
I saw these in Macy's and other places and never quite got to try them.
After endless frustration with bulging fat at the waist, drooping (and dropping) waists), I got a first pair online. Bought a size 14 as was suggested, in a straight leg, which is very flattering for a full figure.
As soon as I put them on, they were a total revelation. Ijust didnt want to take them off. I felt on top of the (jeans) world.

They may sag a bit I imagine after a few wears, but I am sure a wash will tighten them again.
Now I have to see how they wear off in time. But I am more than willing to pay 100 euros (I live in europe) for a pair of jeans each 6 months if that's what it takes to have a good weekend wear!
