I have just returned to Magic the Gathering CCG after a long break (like somewhere around 2 decades - last I played was when The Dark was released). After purchasing a bunch of cards I needed to get some sleeves to protect them. I had purchased these sleeves along with Dragon Shield 100 Sleeves - Purple (as well as a second set of Ultra Pro sleeves with a different graphic - Formula 1 Magic Series 3 Mana Deck Protector, Black). There is definitely a difference between them!

These Ultra Pro sleeves seem more durable than the Dragon Shield sleeves, they look better and they're not as slick so they are easier to shuffle and handle.

When shuffling, the cards/sleeves don't seem to catch in each other as they do with the Dragon Shield sleeves, which makes for easier, faster and more comfortable shuffling. The material seems to be thicker than the Dragon Shield sleeves, so they seem to be able to take more of a beating while remaining firm and keeping the card more rigid during shuffling than the Dragon Shield sleeves. And as I stated above, they don't seem to be as slick as the Dragon Shield sleeves - this means that your cards aren't going to slide around in the play area or your hand as much, giving you better handling of your cards while playing.

The graphic for the sleeve back is completely opaque, so you can not see the back of the card in the sleeve. This is fine for double-sided cards, which seem *fairly* common (not too common, tho - I received 2 in about 300 cards) in the latest releases of MtG, if you don't want one side showing & want it in your deck; but you'll have to pull it out of the sleeve (or have an alternative) to show the other side.

Between the Dragon Shield and the Ultra Pro sleeves, I'll choose the Ultra Pro.

This product is great for my Jagged Scar deck. I'm glad that I spent the few bucks extra. I usually go with Dragon Shield, which is also an amazing brand, but I have so many deck boxes and wanted something a little different anyway. I usually dislike Ultra Pro sleeves (although I love their hard sleeves and deck pages), but these were worth it. They feel smooth, they don't cling to each other, and they are thick, but not overly so. I recommend that anyone who wants a little bit of extra flare and doesn't mind the lack of a deck box that Dragon Shield gives, buy this item or one of the other designs they offer. I am very pleased and will be getting more for my other decks in the future!

I went for the black deck protectors... so my lady got the green. These are attractive, snug protectors that are everything you'd expect and want from an Ultra Pro product-specific item. Woot!

I got these sleeves on time and they were the right kind that i thought i was getting. They did, however, start to fall apart ON THE FIRST DAY. I just shuffled them together normally and they already look like they have some wear and tear on them. They also don't shuffle together very well, unlike other sleeves that should just fall into place; these ones just don't want to work. About the only thing i like about these sleeves is that they look cool and fit the card perfectly. Otherwise they are not very strong and i don't see them lasting very long...

Ultra pro just never lives past two or three uses. They are fine if you want something your gonna replace in a month. After about ten games or so the edges start peeling away and they are easy to rip when shuffling. For sixty card formats plenty of sleeves, for EDH not so great since your twenty cards short.

The sleeeves have sharp corners so u can get cut pretty easily. However they are still awesome. The colors are really great. Cards stay tightly packed but slide easily. Over all, really happy i bought them just a few neusances here and there.

I love these protectors. Highly durable and extremely cool looking. I have been purchasing these same Ultra Pro protectors for years and will continue to do so.

They protected my dear elves from the fat, greasy hands of rival Mtg players.

the card sleeve shuffle well and easy. The art work on the back is a nice touch my the green deck that I have in the sleeves. these sleeves seem like them can withstand normal shuffling and card play.
