Author Peter Darley takes an amazing approach to his ‘Hold On’ Romantic Suspense Thriller Series. ‘Hold On’ is book one in the adult series and it is FREE to all readers who crave action, mystery, conspiracies, romance, science fiction and heart stopping thrills.

The author’s approach may be unorthodox, but it might be genius because after reading ‘Hold On’ I am convinced that you will want to purchase the next books in his trilogy.

Forty seven intense chapters introduce you to his two main characters Brandon (an AWOL soldier) and Belinda Reese (a corporate secretary for Carringby Enterprises). This book is set up in an easy to follow format with chapters that remind me of my favorite TV series episodes. I guess this is why the author lists his books as Season 1, 2, 3, etc. Well-developed characters along with a fast paced persuasive story line will keep you turning the page.

I personally love thrillers! My heart races and my mind turns to my favorite TV Heroes Steven Seagal and Bruce Willis as I find myself searching for clues that will allow me to accept Brandon Drake as the new empowered hero that brings his own experience, skills and gismos into a world filled with conspiracy and terrorism.

Let’s begin as Brandon Drake as he sits on the edge of his sofa. His thoughts beg him to stay in the comfort of this room where it is safe. Heroes never play it safe now do they?

The sign of a skilled action thriller writer is the ability to draw the reader into the action while offering a softer, more romantic interlude when action creates an adrenalin rush, death that may or may not be cheated, and an afterglow of pure animal attraction. Let me tease you with this quote: “The aircraft landed outside a wooden cabin deep within the snow-covered mountains. Belinda’s safety harness automatically detached itself and retracted into the seat. The side door slid upward, and she noticed they’d landed directly against the porch of the cabin. “I didn’t want you to be knee-deep in snow,” he said. Shaking, she reached out and eased herself onto the porch. “It’s dryer this way.” The stranger climbed across the passenger’s side to join her. She assumed he was trying to put her at ease by acting nonchalant. He walked across the porch and inserted a key into the cabin door. Belinda considered the sight somewhat bizarre—a tall, muscular man in black combat fatigues, and a sleek helmet with a reflective visor, acting so normal. She was instantly drawn to the vision before her. The moonlight shone down onto a valley of snow, creating a calming, hypnotic, purple-blue effect. It was a contender for the most beautiful sight she had ever seen, and such a dramatic contrast to that which had led her to it. He pushed the door open and stepped inside. “You’d better come in or you’re gonna freeze.” She turned around and cautiously followed him into the living room. Nothing about the interior registered with her.”

Are they safe in the Cabin? Will Belinda let her guard down? Is there more to Brandon than first impressions? Can life ever be normal again? Can you define normal?

I, Theodocia McLean endorse Hold On: Season 1 by Peter Darley. Careful, once read, you might just purchase Go: Hold On Season 2, Run: Hold On Season 3 and Hold On: Tomorrow (A Futuristic Action Thriller). I read and reviewed this book from Kindle. This review was completed on July 26, 2017.

I'm giving 'Hold On!' 4 stars due to the story line. It had quite a bit of thrilling scenarios, cool gadgets and a plot that kept me glued to the pages. The only thing I felt lacking was some of the dialog. It felt forced at times. Some of the mannerisms depicted didn't match the overall persona of the characters. I liked the action and the fast paced story though. The characters were good. I had read previous reviews and saw how Belinda's character was questioned when it came to her feelings and quickness of love towards Brandon. I think if you look at it from a 'just barely made it and now I am totally relying on a man for everything' aspect, it could happen. The pace of the story happens quite fast and quickly plays out into suspenseful action. I look forward to reading more.

Have you ever been to an amusement park and stood in line with anticipation for the roller coaster ride only to finally strap yourself in? This book by Peter Darley captures that feeling. Thrills and spills and you had better hold on for the ride. And it’s one of those rides that take you to the top only to careen down at top speed while flipping upside down at speeds you didn’t know were possible. Put yourself in Brandon, our hero’s shoes, a genuinely nice guy with a bit of a violent streak, as you save the beautiful Belinda from a skyscraper on fire by stringing a zip line to the next building, grabbing her and zipping across. And that’s not even the exciting part. This is a thrilling story with mystery and romance with a little high tech weaponry thrown in for good measure. Tight writing from a very good storyteller. Don't miss this series if you like action-adventure-thrillers.

This book held my attention throughout. Mr. Darley has a winner in this one. Looking forward to the next in series, interesting to see that our government has a few surprise tools in the arsenal, maybe????. Drake is one fighting maching who doesn't conain his real memory and he sets out to right the wrongs an elite group of CIA are about to perpetrate. I usually stear clear away from British authors but Darley writes with the jargon of us Americans.

This is the first book I've read by Peter, and I enjoyed it very much. The characters in the book are well drawn, and the hero and heroine are very well fleshed out and both are very likeable. Brandon Drake is a stunning character, who keeps surprising himself and us, the reader, with the wonderful things he can do. He becomes a great lover, and an even more gifted warrior than he ever thought he was, and we can enjoy his spectacular efforts with relish. Belinda is a beautiful and talented girl, and it's easy to see why Brandon is so attracted to her. With Brandon as her lover and guide she succeeds as an individual we enjoy knowing. My first favorite part of the book is the time when Brandon rescues Belinda from the Carringby building and carries her across open space to the adjoining building. What fun! The intrigue and suspense in the story are really compelling and keep you eager for what happens next. The other characters in the book are good, warm and evil as is necessary in a compelling story. If you read the book, you are sure to like it. I'm buying the next book in the series right away.

Great read! Fast paced thriller. This was a page turner! If you liked the fast action thrilling ride of the TV show "24" then this is the book for you. A warning...there is a sequel to this book so although a lot of the story line does get resolved in the end, the ending does leave you hanging and wanting more of this adventure.

Peter Darley's thriller, Hold On! had me holding my breath with each and every page turned. This book is impossible to put down. I carried it with me everywhere I went! Non-stop action and nail-biting cliff-hangers quickly pull readers into the harrowing lives of Brandon Drake and Belinda Reese.

During a terrorist attack, Brandon rescues Belinda from certain death. Together they find themselves on the run as they begin to uncover a government conspiracy. The chase is on, and snippets of Brandon's forgotten past are revealed, leaving everyone wondering who the true enemy is---the corrupt senator, the military he defected from, or Brandon himself.

Plot twists and turns will have you guessing to the very end...and even then, your heart will be pounding, yearning for more. It is going to be hard for me to hold on until the sequel!

Get this book. You won't be disappointed!

I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed this novel by Peter Darley.
By the end of the first chapter I was completely gripped. It's action packed, full of cliff hangars and kept me second guessing throughout the entire book.
Infact towards the end of the book I literally could not put it down, needing to know 'what happens next?'
And every single time I was wrong, which added to the enjoyment. There are so many novels I have read that I've enjoyed that have ended up been made into films or dramas, really hope this one catches on too.
Can not WAIT to read GO to continue with the powerful story (and love) between Brandon,Belinda and the espionage 😝
May I also add I rarely ever leave reviews so this is a first.

This is not a book about a superhero. But it does kind of seem like its Central character is on the way to becoming one. He certainly has the gadgets for it.
I can't say this was the book I was expecting to read, but it is well written, and I will probably read the sequel.
