This book describes one of 25 bombing missions that an Australian Lancaster bomber tail gunner flew. The book describes fatigue, fear, loss, survival, and a victory over a Messersmith 109. It also describes the dreams of a 20-year-old if he lives. The short story is well written.

This is a remarkably accurate, yet fictionalized account of the events described in the title. The read is better than the first hand accounts of life in Bomber Command which I tend to read, as the author has a better than average grasp of the art of the English language.

I read it in one sitting. I candidly thought there would be more, but I enjoyed it immensely.

It was pretty short. Interesting as far as it went but should have much longer.

This is a short, matter of fact, report about one of many missions flown by the author as a tail gunner during the Second World War. Don't buy it for excitement but as a record of what flyers endured during the war.

A short story. My uncle was a navigator on Lancasters during the war so I found Wilson's description of a mission to Berlin and back very interesting.

Great short story. A clear insight to the Greatest Generation's contribution to world freedom.

It's so powerfully written that that makes you feel as if you were participating in the combat yourself.

Was expecting a memoir, instead got a fictional short story.
