This is a really unique idea for a story, and I'm so glad to learn it is part of a series. There is never a dull moment, it is bursting with action and in some places the suspense had me to the edge of my seat. The book is plentiful with interesting and well developed characters that the reader will grow to love. With magic, sword fighting, far away lands, assassins and great adventures, it kept me highly entertained throughout. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Wow. That's all I can say (not really) about Brian Kerley's, The Key Keeper's Daughter, the sequel to The Octagon Key. First off let me preface my remarks by stating that as an author, Mr. Kerley has grown exponentially as a writer. The Octagon Key was a good book, The Key Keeper's Daughter is much better. It held my interest and kept me turning page after page to see how the story all plays out. As with the first book, this one is set in a future that grew out of a long ago cataclysm that destroyed our present culture. The key holds the answers to many of the mysteries of the past and it's essential that it not fall into the wrong hands. Most of this tale follows Aideen, the daughter of Imar, whom we know from The Octagon Key. She's a more than capable and skilled 11 yr. old who possesses an abundance of intelligence, maturity and courage. I don't want to go on much more and spoil the story so I'll conclude by saying this is a great read full of adventure, action, wizards, telepaths and a sailing ship that flies!. Mr. Kerley's imagination appears to have no limits which makes this latest book a wonderful, wild ride.
