This came with a 16 ft active extension cable. Before I purchased, I asked if it would come with the additional extension cable and I received a lot of mixed responses. However, as of December 22nd, 2017, it DID arrive with the extension cable. The sensor works great, as expected, and I must say that it is a MUST for anyone wishing to get full immersion for 360-degree games.
IF you do not happen to get this extension cable with your package, or it is simply not long enough for you, then I strongly recommend using this cable (Plugable 10 Meter (32 Foot) USB 2.0 Active Extension Cable Type A Male to A Female) as I did and it works great with the Rift.

Great product. 3rd sensor really improved response on my rift system. Having the Inateck USB 3.0 controller is critical tho. You will want all 3 sensors on an independent USB 3.0 card. Otherwise you will get tracking errors. With the right setup this is a great product. I installed it initially trying to use a spare USB 2.0 port. It constantly failed with tracking errors. Once I got the Inateck USB 3.0 card and put all 3 sensors on it, everything worked beautifully !

Got this for what I think is a fair price of $60 and absolutely recommend for any standing VR experience, as facing the opposite direction with only 2 sensors always resulted in mistracking and completely breaking immersion. With 3 sensors tracking is flawless in any direction, and allows far greater immersion and tracking. For me it was a no brainer, and $60 was a small price to pay for the difference in performance.

Though the description clearly says "Includes 16ft Repeater Cable", mine came with no such cable. The included cable attached to the sensor isn't long enough to use for the back of the room, which is the reason most people would order this. Sending it back for a refund.

EDIT: Since some people said theirs did include the repeater cable, I ordered another one 3 days later and that one did include the repeater cable. It was a Monoprice USB 2.0 repeater cable packaged separately from the sensor. Once I got the sensor with the repeater cable, this worked great and really improved my VR experience. I think this allowed me to put my 2 original sensors a little farther apart so it was easier to get to the recommended room size. I've had far fewer problems with the Rift losing tracking since I got this extra sensor. Given it's relatively cheap price, I highly recommend it!

I already had the two sensors that are included with the Rift and Touch controllers, which work well, but you really need the third sensor to get a great setup for room scale. The third sensor takes care of any blind spots and lets you move around very easily within your space for the newer room scale games that are coming out (which there are more and more of lately).

This just adds to the room-scale VR that I tend to favor. Helps for the one direction that seems to be the one that I can't face.
This sensor might not be necessary if you face the two sensors you already have, facing each other across from each other from the center of the room.

The only problem I have had is how the Oculus recommends where to put it. It wants me to put it right behind me but since I can't, I have to just ignore the warning it gives me. Nothing wrong with that anyways, I just don't know for sure if my area of the room is totally optimal or not for room-scale VR games.

Wow, what a difference the third sensor makes. If you own an Oculus Rift, do yourself a favor and get this. The included cable works great and price is well worth the experience. It is the exact same sensor you get that is included with the Rift. It detaches from the stand if you want to mount to wall.
I used these mounts: Bullet Camera Bracket Mount Pack of 4 Metal Outdoor/indoor Use Security Housing Bracket for CCTV Suvellicance System
Oculus should have just included this with the Rift package to begin with.

The setup process is finicky and somewhat counter-intuitive but the again so was the original two sensor setup. This can be a little more aggravating though as it seems that the setup process occasionally wants you to place the sensor in an area or facing in a direction that may be obscured. I suppose the best option is of course to have as much open space as possible. That being said, tracking is much improved and not be tethered to the forward facing setup in games is great. A must have for those Oculus owners who have the play space.

The sensor works great and really helps with tracking when combined with the other two sensors I already have. However, it does not come with a 16ft Repeater Cable like it says it does. I originally ordered it and it came without the cable, so I returned it and had another one sent to me. The second one also did not have the cable. It was very disappointing. If all you are wanting is the sensor, then that is what you are going to get. I wouldn't be too hopeful about the cable coming with it.
