I bought 3 for full body tracking and I love them. They do loose contact with the base stations occasionally and you have to spend some time getting them to work in some games that support them. Be aware they are not perfect. But I absolutely love being able to see my feet move now. I'm totally happy with them. But I love my Vive anyway. Best purchase ever.
Amazing! I tend to play a lot of VRChat and I will say these are worth evey penny (Over priced yes) they take around 1-2 weeks to ship out even with one day shipping. It’s worth the wait. Battery life 5-6 hours it’s eh, decent for a small little tracker. The tracking accuracy is a 10/10 I can twist my ankle around and it picks it up great. I will say if you are playing VRChat you will need a Fullbody avatar, I had one commissioned so it saved me a lot of trouble and frustration. (NOTE)- To play VRChat with fullbody you will need 3 trackers not one or two save yourself some money and just buy them all at the same time.
Understand this; unless you are planning on using these for VRChat or one of the very small amount of VR experiences that supports them, you might not be able to use this device.
The Vive trackers are a great solution for allowing you to place more objects into the VR world. For VRChat, you can utilize trackers to track more body appendages. Having close-to full-body tracking in VRChat immensely makes for a more immersive experience.
The Trackers are however very overpriced. I'm having a hard time coming to grips on why they need to be $100 a pop. In my mind, they would sit better at a $60 price tag. But I understand that it is a niche product for such a niche audience within a niche (VR in general).
In the end, the Trackers do their job brilliantly. Until affordable and supported full-body tracking suits come out, this is the next best thing. Just wish it was priced better but that's HTC for ya.
I am sorry to say, mine doesn't work. I've spent over 6 hours troubleshooting, including 2 hours with Support, who ultimately walked me through uninstalling everything, remapping my room, etc. I don't know if it's the unit I have, the lighthouse 2.0s or what. For a long time I kept getting SteamVR errors, "The device is connected but not tracking." After reinstalling everything, it now says it's connected and tracking, but in games it never shows up. Well, in one game, it maybe shows up sitting on the ground but never moves.
