I've run 5Ks, 10ks, Half Marathons, Marathons, Ironmans, and this visor is hands down the most comfortable and easily adjustable visor of its kind of the market. The terry cloth inner lining is easy on the skin and makes wiping the sweat a simple task. But more importantly, the easy to use micro-velcro strap in the back doesn't scratch your head or get caught in your hair and you can adjust it easily without dropping a step. I couldn't be more pleased with this product.
There are a couple of factors that I consider when choosing a running hat. Firstly, let me say that a running hat/visor is essential part of my sports attire because it keeps the sun off my face. I frequently run 6-8 hours a week in southern California and the sun will damage your skin in no time flat.
Factors: 1) Light weight - in my opinion using a baseball cap is inadequate because the material is not well suited to absorbing and evaporating the sweat. This is light weigh and wicks away the sweat reasonably well. Any sweat in the material is directed towards the bill and drops away from the face.
2) Cool - the open top allows the head to cool. As such it may not be a great product for you if you are bald as there will be no top cover from the sun.
3) Washable - into the washing machine and then the dryer... no issues so far. The stitching has held together well and the product retains its shape.
4) Fit - I know its just a running hat; however, it has an adjustable Velcro strap that allows for a range of sizes.... goodness.
Other good characteristics are the sweatband on the inside which helps keep the sweat out of your eyes.
Its a great product and I recommend it with confidence.
Keeps sweat out of my eyes and the sun out of my face. Ran about 12 miles with it the other day and it has stood up to the sweat I put out for that length of a run. Though black, it does not feel like it's absorbing sunlight and heat. The sweat tends to collect where the velcro for the strapping is, as I could feel drops of sweat dripping off of just that one area, though I'm not complaining as I am other products would perform worse under similar situations. Machine washed with my other workout gear and let air dried without any problems. I highly recommend this product.
Last year I was hiking a lot right after work. When the sun was starting to set after 5pm, the glare of the sun was in my face while facing west on the hiking trails. I hated facing the sun. Blocking the sun with hands or a piece of paper wasn’t the best way. That’s when I decided I needed to get a sun visor.
Searching online I bought this run visor by 2XU. Man it’s a great product. Here is why: Having spent over an hours hiking on the trails, I did work up a sweat. The 2Xu visor did a great job of pulling the moisture away from my forehead so the sweat can evaporate quickly. I hardly saw or feel any wetness on the visor after my long hiking trip. It did a great job of keeping my forehead dry. Also, it did a tremendous job in blocking the sun out. I was able to focus on the trails and not on the sun.
It feels very lightweight and comfortable. I barely notice i was wearing a visor while I was hiking. The adjustable strap stays on. While running on the trails I never felt the visor was going to come off.
What I also like is the many colors you can choose from. I selected the black visor. I like that color because the sweet stains won’t appear that visible or noticeable. The material and the quality on this visor look good. The stitching and the 2XU design are not coming off or fading.
The price of $15.00 is very reasonable. The company 2XU is known also for making great compression gears. They made another great product with this run visor. If you’re looking for a visor, look into getting this one.
I'm a big visor guy as my head is large and I have a hard time finding hats that fit. I haven't been fitted in awhile but I'd guess my head is somewhere around an 8 in fitted hats. With that said I like the material and how lightweight this visor is, I find it very comfortable even after a couple hours of wearing while out. My only nitpick is that I actually can't Velcro the strap on the back of the visor so I have it "undone" but since the tab catches on the loop where the Velcro strip goes through on the back it I still get a good fit for me. I don't think that it's a great long term solution but since I usually get a year or two out of my visors before they get too gross anyways I'm not going to worry about it. If they made that Velcro closure strap a bit longer then it'd be just about perfect. The price is nice compared to the name brand visors that are usually about twice as much with the super thick bills.
Struggle = running in the heat Solution = this visor I hate having anything extra on me when I run, however its 100 degrees these days on the eastern seaboard, so running with a hat/sunglasses was an awful but necessary addition. Enter this visor - can't feel it, shields eyes with dark internal visor lining, is adjustable, and allows heat to escape... Buy two.
This is my first run visor. I have worn caps in the past. This is by far the most comfortable and best performing piece of headgear I have ever run with. As far as fit goes I have a pin head and most hats are unbelievable huge on my head, this visor fits great and doesn't look like a sombrero on. My wife hates it but lets face it at a certain point in life you just ignore the haters and go with comfort.
I bought this visor for my first marathon. I love the fit because it doesn’t rub my ears, and has an adjustable Velcro strap. The sweatband that is built in is perfect and even after running 18 miles the other day, I barely had to use my towel to wipe off my face because the visor did such a good job. Great for that light spitting rain and the bill is large enough to block the sun without blocking your vision. Best visor I’ve found yet & I will purchase again.
I found awhile back that at the finish of a triathlon, I was dragging in the run. I later found that I was overheating wearing a baseball style running hat. I lost the lid and found my performance improved. That's when I purchased this visor. It does keep the sweat out of your eyes. The visor is drenched and soaked after a long run. I have washed it, since it showed the salt first time out. Has not done that since, probably something I ate. I really like since I am follickly challenged I do put sunscreen on the dome before going out.
Have only used once, as I received it yesterday, but so far so good! First let me start by saying I have a large head and this fits! Its adjustable and had room left for even a larger head than mine. As for sweat, it worked great with keeping sweat off my face during my long run. The entire band is padded and comfortable. When I wear this one out from summer runs, I will definitely be buying another one.
