Might work better if attached directly to a window
Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2018
I bought a cheap RCA antenna years ago (a 1350b or something like that) from a big box store that works better than this did. I installed this about 12ft up the wall (cathedral ceilings) facing the majority of the major TV stations (I think, see below) and it got worse reception than the RCA. In fact I left the RCA behind the TV about 3ft off the ground and generally got a better or equal signal from it.
Installation is not simple. There are no mounting holes so you need to supply your own tape. You need to find something strong enough to hold up the weight of the cord hanging off of it and that will let you reposition it a few times to find your best signal. (I ended up using 3 8" strips of 3M poster tape) There isn't any information about the directional aspect of this device. If you install it on a window facing the wrong way you might get terrible signal and haven't a clue why. They could and should put a little 3 cent label on it that says "this side towards broadcast tower" The upside is that it seemed to work fine even after falling off the wall a couple times. So don't worry about breaking it. The thing is thin enough that I think they could have put a hole through it for a nail, or included some tape in the box.
I'm not sure why this is the best antenna on Amazon it seems like it's just "okay." As with all antennas your mileage will vary.
