My son (13) has wanted a PS4 for awhile. He decided to sell his Xbox 360 and the many games that went with it, and earn money to buy it himself. He was set on this specific bundle so I ordered it for him 2 days before its release. It arrived on release day, and he began the process of creating accounts, downloading the games, etc. One of the codes he received with this bundle, the 30 day Playstation plus access, would not work. He tried quite a few times for a couple of days and continued getting an "error" message. On Friday, I called Amazon after my long work day, and spent over 30 minutes on hold with a couple of different representatives who knew very little about PS4 and even less about the access code I was inquiring about. To be fair, I was told I could return the entire system and they would ship a new one, but I could not get through to them that this was over the small piece of paper with a code and had nothing to do with the system itself. In the end, I was given a phone number for Sony and instructed to call them. The phone call to Sony was a joke. I know they are a money making empire, but their customer service department leaves much to be desired. Basically with the bundle, he was given 2 codes. One was for a 2 day access to a game, and the other was the 30 day promotional credit. The 30 day promotional credit came with the stipulation (that he did not know ahead of time), that it had to be a new account and since he created an account for the 2 day access to that game, he could not use it. I will end up only spending the measly $10-$20 for the online access card he was supposed to receive, but this is not the point. My 13 year old just spent a few hours every weekend cleaning his older brother's room, bathroom, dusting, etc to earn the rest of the $400 to make extra money to purchase this and the a$$$h0les at SONY can't honor the full package.
Of note- yes the gaming system is beautiful, works great so far, shipping was fast, and I will still continue to fuel my shopping addiction through Amazon. The downloads are simple, but take forever. I just hope that one day, the SONY service reps are dealt the same karma.
