This is my first ASUS motherboard and I think all of my future builds will use ASUS motherboard. I didn't want to spend this much on a board but the features and the brand's reputation sold me. I love having the temperature header for my custom water loop. The automatic overclocking is really effective and simple, so many great tools in the BIOS and software package. I had a couple concerns and I was able to get them addressed quickly with ASUS tech support chat. My PCH temps were pretty high (80C idle) and was resolved by taking both M.2's out of the Hyper card and installing them directly on the board (one direct to CPU and the other through the chipset. That took the idle temps PCH temp to 65C, still a little higher than I'm used to but certainly less concerning.

Well laid out board

This is a great appealing board. I moded mine to go with my copper case theme and it looks great. The only draw back I have is that an M.2 SSD can not be placed in the M.2_1 slot without loosing half the speed of the GPU in the PCIe slot which has the heat tube on it. I had to drop the SSD down to the M.2_3 slot to have a the GPU run at its full capacity.

This motherboard has it all. It's wifi performance has actually been so solid I never needed to connect my Ethernet from my router on the other side of the room. It's able to be BiOS flashed for 13th gen processors when those become more affordable and Armoury Crate (while a little clunky for some) hasn't done me wrong yet.

Only issues I've had so far is the Bluetooth stuttered a bit with my wireless speaker I had before buying a dedicated sound system for my setup. This could be because that speaker is a few years old but I have to test further for a definitive answer.
However if you use the wired audio ports to hook anything up, it'll sound wonderful as this motherboard has a better audio codec than the Z790 series (which is honestly a let down but at least this motherboard nailed it).

Overall, pricey, but mine came with add-ons for extra high speed storage and a large heatsink.

ASUS knows what they're doing and you're paying for not only the quality, but the easy to use tuning options afterwards too :)

This is probably my fifth or sixth Asus motherboard in many years of building my own systems. It seems to have retained the good build quality I expect from this manufacturer, and I encountered no serious problems in using it to build my new Windows 11 system. It is worth noting that, in addition to all the features listed, it has six 'native' SATA headers, four of which are RAID-compatible. Less experienced builders may want to note a couple of minor warnings:
1) The system comes with a PCI daughterboard, which accounts for two of its M2 sockets and is intended for use with high power M2 SSD Drives. The daughterboard includes very substantial heatsinks which are in close thermal contact with the installed drives and are designed to (and should) enhance the SSDs' reliability by greatly reducing their risk of overheating. There are also three other more conventional M2 sockets under shields on the motherboard itself. The screws/clips which are used to secure the M2 cards in their sockets are packed separately in small inner bags in a 'hardware' bag. The ones to be used in the daughterboard are small flat silver screws with washers; the ones to be used on the main motherboard are somewhat longer screws with black plastic clips. The screws have identical threads, so it is possible to use them in the wrong places, but this does not work well! The documentation could be clearer on this.
2) If you update the BIOS to the current version downloaded from the manufacturer's website (recommended - mine came with a very old version of the BIOS), be aware that the process takes a surprisingly long time (a few minutes). If you use the BIOS's built-in EZ-Flash program, you will be reassured by the screen displaying progress reports. If you use the 'plug in a USB drive and press the button' option, all you get is a flashing LED, and a LOT of patience is required.

Fool Me Once

Worked exactly as advertised, beware the crowded heatsinks

I consider myself an amateur builder, having built less than 5 systems, so working with parts that just work is always appreciated, and this board did not disappoint...mostly.

Here's what I liked:
- Q-Flash worked perfectly as I needed to pre-upgrade the BIOS for a 13th gen processor
- The board posted first try
- Enabling XMP was easy and gave no problems (I chose XMP 2 for the manufacturer's profile)

Here's a couple gotchas that maybe I can save you from:
- The VRM heatsink is too tall and tight to the processor and you may have trouble finding a compatible CPU air cooler. I initially wanted to go with the Deepcool AK620, but the heatpipes angled too far out to the side and the VRM heatsink pushed it away from the CPU. I ultimately settled on the ID-Cooling SE-224-XT plus an additional fan, but it cost me two heatpipes, so not ideal. PCPartPicker will not help you, just try to find something that looks like it has tall pipes closer to the middle instead of wide.
- Be careful where you mount an M.2 SSD. The obvious play looks like the top mount with the specially built heatsink, but buried in the literature is a note that will warn you that using this slot will reduce your graphics card PCIEX slot to 8X mode instead of 16X. I've seen others mention that would only amount to costing you a few FPS in games, but any hit to parts I've spent good money on is unacceptable.

Lottery of Cards, some DOA. Make sure to update BIOS beforehand

The first motherboard arrived DOA with code 55 - indicating an issue with the RAM. I attempted to flash the bios as this has been a solution for others, but all of the IO ports on the back would not provide power. Consequently, the bios could not be flashed. I deemed the motherboard DOA and replaced it.

My second attempt at this motherboard went well. I flashed the BIOS before ever placing my i9 13900KF/RTX 4090/6000MHz DDR5 G.Skill RAM on the board. I knew it would work because the IO panel would actually transmit power and the BIOS flash would light up green.

BIOS releases have increased stability and component compatibility over time, so make sure to flash/update your BIOS before placing other components to make sure it'll work for you.

So far so good. If anything changes I'll be sure to adjust my rating and update my review.

So, it works and I have my 12th gen i9. I like that the mobo has a lot of USB options as I used them for my front io and my aio liquid cooling module. Have not really tested the 6e (I only have wifi 6) and wired initially handshook at 100 mbps. I eventually got it to link at 1gbps (which is what my switch is that it's hooked to). Not a fan of the gamefirst software and would suggest not installing it.

The first thing I noticed when I received the package was the weight. This motherboard is very heavy. There are multiple fan connections. I didn't really need those as my fans came with a control hub that only use one fan connection on the motherboard. Bios is easy to configure to get the most out of the cpu and memory. It looks scary when you first begin the build but the instructions are very clear. Only had to look one thing up online for bios settings. Computer runs really fast. WiFi 6E is very fast.
