It comes ready to hang and is sealed for shine and protection. **Please folks, keep in mind that all of my items are hand selected and hand made. This means the wood may have imperfections such as knots and nicks. Also, each piece of wood takes stain differently. I think this adds to the character of being hand made. I hand paint every piece of wood in my home. My signs are not made in a factory. I take great pride in making sure my signs are the best of my work but with that being said..please remember that I am human and I am not perfect. I do make mistakes!
