Traditional vs. Natural
Let’s get scientific for a minute here. Traditional litter is made of clay that is processed through strip mining. This involves the removal of trees, shrubs, and wildlife to access buried deposits of the profitable materials underneath. So, you guessed it, strip mining is incredibly disruptive to plant and animal life in the area, and pollution issues are prevalent. Also, traditional litter contains hazardous chemicals like sodium bentonite and crystalline silica. Conversely, sWheat Scoop is farmer grown, ground up and then bagged for purchase. it’s that simple.

California residents and toxoplasmosis information:
California residents - according to CA law AB 2485, encouraging your cat to use an indoor litter box, or properly disposing of outdoor cat feces, is beneficial to overall water quantity. Please do not flush cat litter down toilets or dispose of it outdoors in gutters or storm drains.
As with my litter, veterinarians recommend changing the litter box completely at least once a month. Entire contents should be disposed of in the trash, not the toilet.
As you would with any litter, always wash hands thoroughly after scooping or litter box cleaning. Because at feces can transmit parasites that cause toxoplasmosis, pregnant women and people with suppressed immune systems should avoid any litter box maintenance.
1. Fill a clean litter box with 3 inches of litter. For multiple cats or (ahem) "big-boned" cats, use more.
2. Scoop twice daily.
3. Refill to maintain a 3-inch level of litter goodness.
Switching your cat to sWheat Scoop® in 2 easy steps.
Let's ease into this together:
1. Fill your empty litter box with 3 inches of sWheat Scoop®, and pour 1 inch of your current brand on top.
(It's okay if your cat mixes the litter sWheat Scoop plays nice with others).
2. Repeat this process when you change the litter, but only add a half-inch of the other brand.

One of my boys has a kidney issue so he urinates often. I was scooping too much out and because it doesnt clump quite as well as clay litter you end up with a few dirty urine bits back in the box. My solution to minimize that is to lean the box to one side and collect what is clumped on the bottom vs sifting through and that is working much more efficiently. I scoop twice a day. Slight to no odor.
I LOVE THAT IT IS FLUSHABLE! Honestly that is a huge selling point.
On my 4th bag now and don't plan on switching!
Bottom line - if you're looking for a flushable, environmentally friendly litter with minimum dust and no smell, this is it. Like all lightweight litters, however, this one gets tracked very easily. So don't expect to be able to put aside the broom & dustpan.
The reviewers that say it doesn't clump and it's hard to scoop because of small pieces didn't wait long enough to scoop it. You should wait a couple of hours but not days (gets really hard if you wait to scoop for days or a week). I scoop every morning first thing in the morning and flush it. Most of the odor from cat litter is in the receptacle the the poop is kept in before it's disposed of. I learned all this the hard way. Flush it and get it out of the house or bag it and get it out of the house right away. Again...if you wait too long to scoop this litter will have an odor and it will be rock hard.
The price as of this writing is the same as Petco which was the cheapest I found. Free shipping is a bonus. The prices do fluctuate for the same item on Amazon so if you go through a lot get enough when the price is low. Or keep one in your shopping cart and check it often; when the price changes they let you know at the top of the page.
