It comes with tons of jumper wires and resistors, and it has buttons, potentiometer (adjustable resistor), photo-resistor (to detect light), it comes with a bunch of other cool stuff too, even a servo! To make things move! You cannot beat this deal, even if it was at a higher price. This package is the best deal at the perfect price. Can't beat this deal.

Nice kit, arrived on time and in good quality. The box is smaller but more robust and of better quality then I expected and with a bit of rearranging I was able to store my Arduino in it with the rest of the parts. As mentioned by others it would be nice if there were more in the way of documentation. For example it took me a while to locate what the color code for the servo wires are (red +, brown gnd, orange signal), and I had a bit of trouble with the thermistor. All of the examples for using the thermistor assumes a 10k thermistor, this one is a 50k (in hindsight the "503" printed on it indicates this [same numbering system as resistors and other components], but it was not obvious at the time). Oddly the kit does not include a 50k resister so none of the example thermistor scripts will work by using the included parts (it is probably possible to compensate by altering the code, but I am sure it will be easier to just pick up a 50k resistor). I do appreciate the included resistor cheat sheet, it is a nice extra. A bit of documentation would have allowed me to rate this 5 stars.

So I found out this kit is made by Seeedstudio (based on the logo on the case). I checked their website and they have a wiki with some projects but very little. Some sections such as music are completely blank. The jumper wires are much better quality than the ones that came with my Newsite Arduino Uno R3 kit that I bought off of Amazon. The breadboard however was identical. The servo in the kit doesn't seem to want to turn the whole 180 degrees. It sort of pegs out and jitters a lot and gets warm. I had to modify my code so that it only turned 0 to 163 degrees. But it's a cheapy servo, you can tell anyway. The potentiometer in the parts list looks like one with a knob, but the one in the kit is much smaller and very hard to turn with your fingers. You'll need a small screwdriver to turn it easily. The thermistor is a 50k made by Bapihvac according to Seeedstudio. I found that on their forum so if you need the table to convert resistance to temperature. Go to the Bapihvac site, and select sensor specs, thermistors and then 50K. So overall decent amount of parts, but the limited documentation on their site would make it that I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner who doesn't know what to do with the parts.

As a newbie, having used this now for about a week, this kit appears to have almost everything that I needed. The only exception so far is the lack of female to male or female to female jumpers. Of course the little box is cute, but you will likely want to transfer the contents into a container that is easier to withdraw and store items -- everything is sort of smushed into the box. But good value and seems to have all listed contents.

This is a nice little kit. The box is great quality and everything inside is nice as well. It would be better if the things were labeled. The jumper wires are nice, a majority of them are about 4 inches and then there are some set about 6 inches or so. The bread board is good as well, 30 colums x 10 rows not including the power, which runs along the top and bottom. Both sides of the channel are labeled as well. There is a double sided sticky on the bottom as well. There is a resistor reading sticker that fits nicely on the cover or where ever else you choose. The resistors are hard to read though, it looks like some have a seam in the middle or on the sides that makes it tricky to see the colors if your eye sight isnt the best or are a tad color blind.

This is great for anyone starting with arduino, it has a lot of things to mess around with and learn. The only thing I can find wrong is the plastic bags the components are in. Theyre great for organizing but opening and closing and putting everything back perfectly to fit in the box gets old. I got a small tackle box type thing with plastic dividers as I also started taking apart old electronics for parts and needed more space.

I think my expectations were a little high but the product is exactly has described.

The Bin:
The bin is tiny and has no dividers. You couldn't put a VHS tape in this thing. But it is a pretty cool little bin that I will use for my common use stuff.

The stuff:
The stuff is in little ziplock style bags. all of the resisters are piled into the same bad and you are required to use the provided color code sticker to help you find the resistor type. I'm going to have to get my wife to help me here since I'm colorblind. (really hate being colorblind).

The patch wires:
Not my favorite design but they work great and are separated by size in their own little baggies. I also purchased the Arduino with the starter kit and I like the patch wires that come with it better but they are still nice.

Overall:
Yeah, I would recommend this product. if it came with one of those cool little boards that your Arduino snaps to and an Arduino you would have everything you need to start playing.

However, I ended up paying 40 canadian dollars because of shipping and taxes, so it wasn't worth it for me.
