Watch out and Dony Buy : Smart or Automatic Senz, becouse dindt work welll, the Best one is tje Original Senz Umbrella that one is Awesome
The manufacture claims that this version supports winds of up to 37mph ( 60km/hr) but this is not the case.
Since I hike in Arizona, the umbrella serves as my portable shade when it's 1,000 degrees C outside. While the other lunatics on the trail are baking in the sunlight, I am relatively cool.
This is my second Senz. The first one got damaged slightly (through misuse) and is no longer capable of handling the elements with aplomb. I retired that to my car where it protects me while walking to and from my work building from the parking lot, and keeps me cool during my hourly strolls around the property in the summer. This umbrella is lighter (303 grams with case), and reflects the sun better than the retired dark blue version.
The umbrella is durable and great in the wind, as advertised. I have had it in 30 knot winds (gusting to 45) and it had no problem. It deploys easily and folds up quickly. The coverage is good, though your elbows will get wet if you aren't paying attention and the rain is descending vertically. The elongated rear of the umbrella serves to keep rain off my backpack, more or less.
This is a perfect backpacking umbrella. You can get more traditional umbrellas for backpacking that weigh about the same, but they are a traditional mushroom shape and therefore suspect in high winds. This umbrella is larger, far more durable, and not heavy. And it laughs at wind. Just don't sit on it and it will serve you well.
