Here's the trick...
Put Vaseline on the suction cups, and then stick them to the sink. Works like glue!!! It's been up for 3 months now, no problems!
At 4" deep (front edge to wall, including the suction cups, but not including the optional L-bracket hanger), it took up between a quarter and a third of my sink's width. For me, that was not an acceptable option.
So, instead, I removed the L-bracket, and placed the unit behind the sink (still mostly over the stainless steel part of the sink), and suction-cupped it to the splash-guard on the wall. Now it is not only functional; it is also unobtrusive. Note that this placement does not permit one to extend the depth of the brush well. However, as you can see in my photos, that does not adversely impact my ability to store long-handled kitchen tools.
I have added customer images at the top of the product description page, showing both the in-sink mounting and the behind-sink mounting.
I take it off the sink fairly regularly to give it and the sink itself a thorough cleaning.
Update: 2 years and a couple months...it just won't stay up anymore. Even the bar at the top doesn't help hold it and the suction cups are too flat to adhere properly. I am ordering another one of these because I really do like it....I guess it's going to be one of those things I just replace every couple of years.
We switched to a cheapie clear plastic holder - so at least we can easily see what's going on inside.

Looks and works great. I initially had trouble getting it to stick in my stainless steel sink but dampened the suction cups with a little water and have had no trouble since. Read morePublished 1 day ago by Laurie Egan

Works great, but doesnt sit super well on stainless steel sinks, will have to "secure" with glue on the counter with the metal bar.Published 4 days ago by RSheline
When it comes to products that see water on a daily basis, there are few that do not need to be replaced on a regular basis. Read morePublished 5 days ago by Middle Aged Macgyver Dad
