"WOW AMAZING!!" - By Bonnie Neely
Lonely Planet's Great Adventures is perhaps the MOST beautiful and thrilling travel books I have ever seen. I loved pouring over the amazing adventures within its over 300 large sized pages, almost all of which have breathtaking, full-color photographs of some of the most difficult places to get to in the world. The intrepid athletes of every kind who have made it to these one-of-a-kind earth's wonders (and the fearless photographers who had to make the trip along with them and carry immense equipment) have shared their challenges and routes with us in fabulous, thrilling detail. There are hiking, diving, biking, climbing, water, canyoneering, boating, rafting, rowing, driving adventures and more. The images are gorgeous, all making me wish I could do every single one of these adventures. But don't be daunted by these temptations, which few could afford or physically manage, because this terrific book has ... full review

"Fastest 600 pages I ever read" - By Mister Blonde (Austin, TX)
If you like adventure nonfiction, go no further. This is a compendium of excerpts from lots of other great books, sort of like Reader's Digest. Each chapter is easy to absorb, and they are all absorbing. No matter what you're into, there is probably a cool story about it. And you will read other cool stories about things you never imagined. This book is a great starting point to finding other great works of adventure nonfiction.

"Crichton traveled through his mind." - By George Clumsy
    "Travels" by Michael Crichton.
Michael Crichton didn't want to be a doctor, but he attended the entire course and worked in different department. At the end, he refused to receive his right to practice his art, despite he received his diploma.

This decision was based on his childhood, that was not easy. Actually, he never wanted to be a doctor, this was his parents' decision.

So after having written four very good novels including "Andromeda Strain", which became a tremendous success; after making a movie ("West World") which was a great success -the movie didn't cost much- and being a doctor, he settled in a apartment building in Hollywood. The right place to live experiences. He was THE DOCTOR in this building and he was bothered by the other tenants. After succeeding in litterature, in movies, and being a doctor, he suddenly felt sad, depressed.

    Simply because ... full review

"Deep in the Jungle" - By Hopkins
One of the amazing things about books, which talk about someone’s journey to somewhere, is that a book simply NEEDS to be detailed to the extreme. Everything needs to be described: every single part of nature, every segment of it, every bird, flower, every exotic animal and plant that can be seen there. Why? Because we want to see, feel, hear and even smell what does it feels like to be
on an exotic place such as Amazonian tropical rainforest. And I must say that To See a Jaguar does a fine job in doing all that together. And even more.

"I'm an old guy. I definitely do not hike ..." - By Amazon Customer
I'm an old guy. I definitely do not hike (and honestly never did).
But this book is about much more than walking on a trail. It gave me so many ideas to think about regarding the world I'm living in.
So don't be mislead by the title.
This young man is going to be very famous in short order.

"A quick and enjoyable read." - By Marta
I liked how this book is not "how-to", rather it's a book about the adventures that find you and memories you make while traveling (both good and bad). It also made me want to experience Southeast Asia for myself, a place I'd never seriously considered going before reading this. I hope that someday there will be a second book as it left me wanting more.

"A must read for anyone interested in thru-hiking the AT" - By ShaneLien
I hesitantly purchased this book based on a recommendation. It only took a few pages to know that I would not be disappointed. The book is a well written tale of the author's thru-hike of the AT. The reader gets a very good look into what one should expect on such a journey. I highly recommend this book for anyone considering thru-hiking the AT. It is also a great adventure story for anyone.

"This clever, hysterical book has become a favorite!" - By Valerie (Portland, OR United States)
If you're looking for a fun, feel good, laugh out loud kind of read that takes you on an unimaginable adventure-look no further! George Mahood's Free Country is clever, well written, and hilarious with a fresh, fun storyline. This is my third reading and I've enjoyed it just as much each time, and shared it with friends who loved it too! Just the entertaining idea of two young guys starting a 1000 mile walk across Great Britain in their underwear-on a whim-is a riot! It's clear early on they had no idea what they were getting themselves in for and that's when it gets fun!
Get this book on Kindle so you can start reading right away, get one in print to share, and get the audible version to put a smile in your commute and brighten your day!

"Fun adventure stories" - By carolyn carter
I would recommend this for adventure junkies or just folks dreaming of being this wild and crazy. I can't imagine totally giving up a comfortable lifestyle and just taking off with 2 small children into the unknown but these stories make me envious of this way of life.
