Apocalypse Now is one of my favorite movies. It took me three tries to make it through Redux without disgust. There were holes in the original, little incongruities, clearly a result of editing away what was replaced in Redux. That having been said, not all of it was good. Perhaps the original editing preserved us from the turn Robert Duvall took. LTC Kilgore, at the end of his scene, transformed into a mockery of himself, which the original cutting spared us. In the original, we saw enough of the bunnies. Is it fair, reasonable, or even really consistent with CPT Willard's character to assume he would have exchanged oil for what he did? "RE: Apocalypse (Blu-Ray review)" - By Brett (Memphis, TN)
This isn't an in-depth review of the movie, just a review of the Blu-Ray transfer. You either like zombie movies, or you don't. If you don't, don't bother with this one. If you do, I recommend this. Anyhow, what I'm concerned with here is the video quality and, to a lesser extent, the audio quality. Both are excellent; however, I'm irritated by Sony's stubborn use of MPEG-2 transcoding rather than Microsoft's VC-1. Both Sony Blu-Ray's that I own (Casino Royale and RE: Apocalypse) use MPEG-2 compression; so, I assume that Sony just doesn't want anything to do with Microsoft (See: HD format war).
Honestly, the DVD transfer of this film is top notch for that medium; so, unless you don't own RE: Apocalypse, I wouldn't recommend snagging this one unless you just HAVE to have it in 1080p. The DVD version on ... full review(524) -

After reading some of the reviews I was a bit apprehensive about watching this. It's unfortunate that nowadays comic book related entertainment has to resort to blatant female nudity to help shore up sales. Don't get me wrong I support strong and sexy female leads but sometimes companies just flat out cross the line. In this particular film I think the producers did a reasonable job of balancing out the mature material when the storyline calls for it.
The film itself is very well done. I enjoyed the animation style and loved hearing some of the old voice actors from the Bruce Timm related animated series. The dialogue and interactions between the characters are great. I don't want to spoil too much but seeing Superman in the mall is hilarious. What stuck out to me was how well they portrayed Wonder Woman/ Big Barda/ Supergirl. I really enjoyed how ... full review(340) -

I really appreciated what this documentary did and was trying to do. The interviews with theologians on both sides of the Biblical interpretation debate was helpful and very interesting. As someone who studied Biblical Interpretation in college, it brought me back to that point of where most Biblical scholars have known much of these trends for years but much of the lay public is being led by more conservative groups who eschew scholarship and lean towards "knowing" because they prayed about it. A very good documentary.(34) -

"The perfect bad movie" - By Gene Wood (Cheney)
If you want something hilarious and bad, this is the film for you! I watched it before buying it and was so confused and so in love I just had to buy it. Misha Collins is an amazing actor and I highly recommend you watch some of his work, as long as it isnt Karla. He said "This is a film made for people who are drunk" and he was absolutely correct.
