"a decent beginners' book" - by Shawn T. Rutledge (Phoenix, AZ United States)
This is a book for people who have some programming experience but are new to Qt and Qt Creator. It lives up to its title, and fills that role pretty well. It's quite readable, written in a friendly and engaging tone, with an optimistic attitude which will tend to engage the reader to dig in and try to develop something. It covers a well-rounded variety of modules and capabilities, so that regardless of the type of project you want to undertake, you will probably have a good idea where to start. After you have gotten going, the Qt documentation is probably sufficient for you to learn the rest of what you need to know.

"Great Start with Xamarin" - by Jessica Amlaw
This book was my first intro to Cross-Platform development with Xamarin, and it is fabulous! I come from a background of development in Windows applications, so a lot of my skills were able to carry over. After going through this book in a couple of weeks, I feel like I can do everything with Xamarin that I could previously with just Windows applications. Now, I can develop for all three top mobile platforms with one code base. Not to mention Xamarin Forms works really well!! I was really impressed how I could design a UI once and it would render appropriately for each platform. Highly recommend this book to get started with Xamarin, a fabulous tool for doing cross platform mobile application development! The tutorials here are very well documented and easy to follow!

"GREAT Android development book" - by Amazon Customer (Philadelphia, PA USA)
GREAT Android development book! A rare combination of an easy to understand programming book that is also comprehensive in its coverage of Android app development. What I really like about the Android Application Development Cookbook is that it not only shows you the code for each cookbook recipe but then it goes through the code examples and explains exactly what each line does.Great way to learn Android/Java while creating usable programs. Outstanding!
