"Great book to read the night before Kindergarten!" - by Keni
Enjoyed reading this to our kid the night before Kindergarten. It's fun to read aloud as the story walks you through a typical first day of Kinder. After the first week of school, we read it again and compared the things in the book with our kids actual first day of Kinder. I would recommend this to any kid starting school. Helps them understand what to expect.

"Silly story makes reading fun!" - by Byron (United States)
Bright pictures full of discussion possibilities, add a lot to this book. Short sentences on each page, with a mystery solved on the last page. Double letter words are part of this book, adding a skill level for new readers. Silly story definitely appeals to new young readers, helping to mask sounding out word frustrations.

"Love it! So perfect!" - by ENVM328
This book was perfect, honestly it was more for me because I had a hard time letting go, the part were the parents cry at the end, well that happened to me her first day! And she was fine so I'd say the book is spot on! Haha sadly we read it twice the week before kinder, and literally the night before kinder, my 3 yr old had lost it so we didn't get to read it as planned :( still haven't found it! Haha

"I love this sight word book" - by Patricia A. Mascaro
I am using this book with a kindergarten student who has been struggling to build a lexicon of sight words. I have been using this book for a little over a month now and am beginning to see a difference in my student's ability to remember sight words. I like this book because it is full of fun activities that help my student remember sight words. I use this book in conjunction with another text I bought from Amazon entitled 100 Write-and-Learn Sight Word Practice. I have been introducing sight words using 100 Words Kids Need to read by !st Grade and reinforcing them with a sight word page from 100 Write-and-Learn Sight Word Practice where the focus is on tracing, writing the sight word, cutting and pasting the word in a sentence, and writing the word in your own sentence. Both texts compliment each ... full review

"Words are easy to sound out" - by Cali'sMom
One of the 1st books my Kindergartener could read all by herself. Words are easy to sound out. It uses repetitive words throughout the story so once the child sounds out the word in the beginning, they should have no problems when the words reappears during the story. I would say this is a mid level 1 book. Great book, cute story, would a lesson to learn.

If my review was helpful to you, please choose YES. Thank you!

"Great product to get ready for kindergarten!" - by Liz
This is a great book to help you get ready for kindergarten. One of the curriculum standards is that the children are able to count to 30. My 5 year old daughter saw the connect the dots puzzles where you count out loud, and connect the dots, and she couldn't get enough of this book. She basically sat for 45 minutes trying to do every single one, and she didn't mind counting out loud.
There are also many other repetitive exercises to help you get to know your numbers. She was interested in those as well. But so far we have at least one exercise that is a hit with her.
I would highly recommend buying this product if you have a 4 year old and you want to get her ready for kindergarten. I will buy this product again when my 2 year ... full review

"Confidence booster!" - by Chani
These books are wonderful. Our 5yr old kindergartener only knew 25 sight words 2 months ago. With the help of these books he has confidence to sound out and read the entire series. These books help give young readers confidence to explore new material!

"Adult enjoyed" - by S Coppedge
Checked this out in advance for sharing with future grandchild.
Thought the silhouette format, followed by a photo and about 3 quick facts was just about perfect for those with short interest spans.

Was surprised to learn a few facts I never knew such as goldfish having teeth and how long a rabbit lives. Sort of like a virtual behind the scenes tour at a zoo.

Nice to learn that the author has additional animal books focusing on a specific animal or characteristic (such as speed)once the interest in a specific type has been piqued.

Four vs 5star because of grammar issue - ie there should have been their. Might not bother a lot of people but really did for me, especially in a book a child might read. Easily fixable and preventable.

"Great educational fun for a begginer!" - by Krystal
This is the perfect begginers book. My twins are four years old and they really loved this book. Their favorite part was the chapter with all the animals. They loved seeing all the pictures of the animals. It is also very educational. I would say the name of the animal and then they would repeat it. They enjoyed seeing animals that they had not seen before. They also liked the other chapters but the zoo chapter was by far their favorite.

"Great first easy reader books for children" - by Brittany (Florida)
My daughter is too smart for her own good sometimes LOL. Her teacher said to get her started on reading. So I went on my search for some easy beginner reading books. I found these and the first time we tried them we both got frustrated and it didn't go very well (I'm NOT a great teacher) Talking with my cousin last night she suggested just to go with the flow basically and we can always re-read the story and not to dwell on each page. We tried that and she did it! She was so excited and she read to daddy and we all celebrated. She actually GOT IT! I had NO doubt she wouldn't get it, but still it was amazing seeing her face light up and her being confident in herself and not giving up. If your child is ready to learn to read I ... full review
