Barb Asselin hits another homerun with this well-written marketing book for authors. She's laid out everything in her 5-minute marketing plan in easy-to-follow steps such as using Author Central, Goodreads, Blogging, Social Media, Emailing and Lists, and many more.
She tells you how to advertise on Facebook and Twitter and includes many screenshots in her book so we can see exactly what she's discussing. Also included is a treasure section for all authors: a list of websites that promote your book for free and some paid options as well.

Price: $12.95 "A must-read for any author looking to publish a book... indie or otherwise" - By LG O'Connor
As a debut author looking to launch my first of three novels in 2014, this was a quick and invaluable read. As someone who manages a social selling program at a large Fortune 250, there were so many messages that resonated with me in this book. As much as authors don't want to don a marketing or sales hat, engagement is a necessary part of your success. Whether your an indie or traditionally published author, Derek's advice is insightful and honest. The bottom line is that relationships sell, especially in the digital age where we spend more and more of our waking hours. Derek captures the myths and realities of selling your book perfectly, and gives you enough to build an actionable plan to execute without feeling overwhelmed.
Derek offered me a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, but I would have willing paid ... full review(202) -

"excellent guide on book marketing and brand building for authors" - By Dragonfinch (London, UK)
Now, it's good to see that Joanna has at last distilled her enormous experience as an indie writer into a book-marketing guide. I have attended a couple of Joanna's talks in the past, she lights up the room with her enthusiasm and she's genuinely friendly and likes helping other writers. She knows what she talks about, because unlike many how-to-4-writers book authors she can actually back it up with impressive figures of her own fiction books' sales.
What can you find in this book:
It's a well-structured guide on how to reach your audience the best way and also how to market your books by developing your brand. So, the book is not just about getting the book into the right hands, getting reviews, getting the best look of your book, but also about some brand-building activites such as guest interviews, public speaking, podcadt, vlogs, etc. The book is ... full review(218) -

Price: $9.99 "These are not just another marketing theories, but a system based on the author's real-life experience" - By Nickey Teoh
I'm a publishing consultant that helps authors to produce their books and I could truly say, the struggle of authors usually isn't on writing the books, but to market the books upon having it published. Many authors have this belief that "I just want to write a book, I don't want to be involved in the marketing process." If I could give them to read this book, that will change their entire mindset about marketing their book.
I like the author's Connection System which consists of four parts: Permission - Content - Outreach - Sell. The author puts everything in a very methodical and systematic way of executing the book marketing process.
Also, the author highlights an interesting point about social media which is exactly what I am thinking. Many people over-emphasized on social media as the end to a means. What a social media should be, it ... full review(391)
