As an entrepreneur, having this book to use as a reference for my business, has proven to be a big help for its success. It is essentially an encyclopedia, no matter where you are in your business it gives you step by step instructions on how to plan for, and achieve your goals. The relationship between marketing and sales and how the cohesive effort of these departments are crucial to any business success has been especially eye opening and very helpful. It is something that I use as I go in my business and refer to the key elements throughout that I especially need help in. At first I thought I would need to read the whole book cover to cover right away and have found in going through each chapter as I have needed in the process has been even more helpful for me. It is ... full review(8) -

I work in business development at one of the largest technology companies in the world, and am an avid reader of anything written about sales (I constantly study sales experts like Hal Becker, Chet Holmes, Aaron Ross, Frank Bettger, Bill Stinnett, Bob Burg. Dale Carnegie, Art Sobczak, Jeffrey Gitomer, Mark Roberge, Jill Konrath, Brent Adamson, Grant Cardone, Brian Tracy, etc.).
New Sales Simplified by Mike Weinberg is the best book I have ever read on acquiring new business . Mike's coaching on account selection, messaging, running a sales call, and sales psychology are second to none- and I am not exaggerating when I say that I carry this book around with me throughout my day, every day.
With this book in hand, I have been able to become a top performing business development representative. I cannot stress enough that the gameplan Mike lays out in this book, if ... full review(358) -

This is a useful book, but be forewarned, it's more of a training manual than traditional business book (thus the 4 stars). The book is true to its title, and offers a rich source of well-referenced, practical tools and worksheets for scaling various parts of your business. Another useful contribution are the detailed examples and cases used throughout the book.
Having said that, reading the book is a bit of slog, as it is intended more as a reference manual.(393) -

I have read most of the best selling books on sales and business management over the last 30 years. I rank Andrew's book in the top 5. He delivers current strategy clearly and concisely while introducing us to fascinating business people. One of the greatest gifts this book offers is advice on what NOT to do and what doesn't work anymore. His choice of war stories allows us to be a "fly on the wall" during high-level discussions where the conversations tackle some of our most challenging business issues. As he recounts these discussions, he clearly identifies the skills he is using, why he is using them and how they effect the outcomes. I was nearing the end of the book and patting myself on the back for buying it when I turned what I thought was going to be the last page, only ... full review(313) -
Fanatical Prospecting: The Ultimate Guide to Opening Sales Conversations and Filling the Pipeline by Leveraging Social Selling, Telephone, Email, Text, and Cold Callingby Jeb Blount
- In Stock.
List Price: $27.00 Price: $16.74 You Save: $10.26 (38%) "A Manual For All aspects Of Sales Prospecting, From A Master Of The Game." - By Claude Whitacre author (Wooster, Ohio)
I can see why Fanatical Prospecting by Jeb Blount is the #1 selling in it's main category.
The author covers cold calling, referral selling (although that chapter is a little short), selling socially, and more.
But he cover completely the reasons reps don't prospect. He knows their excuses for putting off calling prospects on the phone. He summed it up nicely on page 18 (of the hardback edition), "It is not the "cold" call that is hard, it is the interrupting. Reps are just afraid to make the call, not the
cold call". And I have found that to be true.
And the author seems to completely understand the reason for sales slumps, and he explains the cure....keeping accurate records of your sales activity. Because the reason for a sales slump is almost universally, that the rep has simply stopped prospecting, and doesn't want to admit ... full review(373) -

List Price: $12.52 Price: $11.80 You Save: $0.72 (6%) "I love this book" - By Greg (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)
I love this book. There are so many sales books that are based in theory, or not anchored in reality, or just rehash war stories of 'what' an organization should do, and not 'how'. Trish does a fantastic job, based her extensive experience and expertise, with the 'six elements' model that she presents as a framework, making it easy to understand how to gain sales development success. The book is well structured, easy to read, with simple charts that make it actionable. Kudos Trish, and thank you.(142) -

If your a business owner, everything you need to know about developing or reviewing your business can be learned in the first 40 pages of this book. It pulls together all the aspects or building blocks of a business model in a very clear and concise manner utilizing what authors term a Business Model Canvas. This building blocks should be familiar to most if not all business owners: Customer Segments, Value Propositions, Channels, Customer Relationships, Revenue Streams, Key Resources, Key Activities, Key Partners and Cost Structure. The book does not regurgitate information about these building blocks that can be found in so many other sources, but does summarize the key points. The books greatest contribution for the business owner is the canvas. This graphic enables the business owner to quickly visualize just how all these building blocks interacts -- just like a pictorial of ... full review(583) -

I purchased the kindle version even though many reviewers have warned against that. I work in China and did not want to deal with the hassle of waiting for delivery and customs of the physical book. I used the kindle app for PC laptop to read the book and access the link to the strategyzer website. The purchase verification process on their website was easy. All the visuals can be downloaded as PDF posters from the website. So I have found that all the problems mentioned in previous kindle reviews have been dealt with in a reasonable manner. (Don't know why format says paperback - definitely purchased Kindle)(170) -
"Excellent Resource" - By Brian Long
"60 INSIGHTS for Mastering Business Development" is a great reference book and an easy read. It offers key insights on business development philosopy. If you are looking for gimmicky sales tactics this is not the book for you. If you are looking for a reference to guide and shape your thinking as you move along the self improvement continuum toward mastering business development then this is a good read. The authors get to the point quickly and don't bore you with unnecessary detail. I've had the privilege of attending business development training by the authors of this book (MBDi company). The training is excellent as is the supporting materials. However, later I wished for a way to quickly review their material. Now, they have produced this and it will stay on my shelf for years to come.(8)
