"Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes (from an old Motown song)" - By Steve Gladis
Harvard professor John Kotter changed the way we first looked at “change” in organizations back in 1996. Known as the father of change management, Kotter’s research developed an 8-step process to help leaders face the challenge of change. Now 16 years later, he has republished the book with updates. Still, it’s worth checking out because most leaders have no change methodology when they introduce change efforts, and most change efforts (70%) fail! Kotter’s 8 steps are methodical and provide a comprehensive, dependable, repeatable process for leaders. Read it, heed it. By the way, if you want to read a shorter version, read Kotter’s 1995 article in the Harvard Business Review, also called “Leading Change.”

"A Book and Toolbox All in One!" - By David G. Dame (Tecumseh, Ontario Canada)
This book is an absolute must have for anybody and any group leading change within their organization.

I have seen this book evolve over the last couple of years.

This book explains the theory but also has a lot of tools that you can immediately use to implement changes in a efficient and low risk manner. He uses the lean approach of doing a lot of experiments rapidly, and pivoting as you get feedback and insight to the changes.

People and organizations are complex. There is a lot of personal emotions that come with change. These proven tools that Jason shares helps depersonalize the change by using big visible displays to filter personal attachments.

We have all read books on the theory of change. This is the first book that I've come across that has actually given me tools to effectively implement ... full review

This story was a great example of how to form a cohesive community, whether it be at work, in your home, etc. I read this for an assignment in my Foundations of Management class at the University of Iowa and I would recommend this to any leader as every leader has room to grow.

"Teaches you how to onboard youself" - By Scottyb06
The reality is this: Most organizations' managers do a terrible job of onboarding new employees, be it individual contributors fresh out of college or more seasoned professionals. This book essentially teaches you how to onboard yourself and likely do a better job at it then your manager would anyway. I've been creating a "workbook" in Microsoft Word which I can leverage and take notes in directly. The book is written more toward seasoned professional who are responsible for areas of a business; however, the general content applies to new individual contributors as well. Highly recommended.

I didn't know what to expect when reading this book. It turned out to be very clear and easy to read. If change isn't your ideal state, this book is still a good read. It's a good comparative model for changes you will undergo or have been through.

"A Gold Nugget!!" - By Looking for Gold
As a personal practitioner of both project management and change management for over 20 years, I find the author's principles, premises, and practical tips to be compelling. Mr. Jarocki details a systematic "project success" methodology which combines both project management (PM) and change management (CM). This is the first book which explains why and how PM and CM should be practiced together to achieve project success.

The book offers individual practitioners and corporate project offices an easy to understand project methodology, with numerous tools and real-world situational tips. If you want to learn best practices for PM and CM, you will find this book well worth your time and money.

After reading this book, I will keep it close by as a valuable reference handbook. Thomas, thanks for sharing these cutting edge views!!
