I have seen this book in many exclusive homeware stores throughout Sydney [Australia] at quite a high mark up - so was easily tempted to purchase on Amazon with competitive pricing and AUD being quite good at the time. Overall this book is both an inspirational & aspirational book. It can easily sit comfortably on a coffee table or - as in my case in my design library as a resource to refer to for pure visual & wordsmith candy. I enjoyed looking through this book - however if you are thinking with will give you a blow-by-blow directive on how to set up a Coastal style - this is not the book for you - this is at a higher interpretive aesthetic level. All the same an incredibly gorgeous book and one worth adding to your library. Enjoy.(32) -

I have read small apartment books and they always give you the obvious answers to decorating that everyone pretty much knows about. This book gives you NEW ideas and great DIY projects that are actually really cute and easy to do. I love how they put shelves in an otherwise useless doorway and even added bike storage onto the back. These are the ideas that I can really use. I also loved the box spring chandelier. It was new and awesome and re-used old items. All around the book was well written and easy to follow, the photographs were amazing, and the decorations were vibrant and spot on. I loved everything about this book. If you need real advice for small apartment living that helps you actually live easier in your apartment while remaining stylish this is the book for you.(34) -

Turn page after glorious page in David Stark's sophisticated new book and you will discover the true meaning of "live art." Stark, an international event planner, creates living monuments for the philanthropies and individuals whose parties he plans. The only problem? They are temporary. But they live on in Stark's eponymous design book, thank goodness, through the slick photographs that feature his distinctive work. Stark doesn't do mere flowers (although when he does flowers, they are clearly one-of-a-kind). He creates installations as detailed as a dramatic chalkboard backdrop (where event guests are invited to become part of the design) and as simply elegant as a beach wedding (albeit with exotic tents for dinner and dancing). His hallmark is the uniqueness of each event. When the book arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by just how BIG the book itself is! Of course it is beautifully done with wonderful images & detailed instruction, but it also has actually useful advise. The day I received the book, I couldn't resist but make the superly clever banana bread loaves! Although I definitely didn't spend as much time on the details, they still turned out super fun & WOW did they taste freaking fantastic. Honestly the best (& EASIEST) banana bread recipe I've ever made. So moist and delicious.. Im actually baking a standard loaf with her recipe as we speak, because it was THAT delicious & may just be my new standard!
An awesome aspect to Christine's recipes is that they are SO SIMPLE! No bogus/bizarre ingredients like oh so many other cookbooks. Have been a fan since I saw one of her first Reddit posts of ... full review(75) -

Martha really does know a better way to do things. I have made several different types of cupcakes from this book and all have turned out beautifully and were exactly as described in the little blurb above the recipe in terms of texture and flavor.
I read the reviews before I bought this book, and I was a little concerned by the negative ones because I am not an "experienced baker", and noticed that some people had issues getting their recipes to turn out properly. I think because of that, I have so far followed the recipe exactly, not just with careful measurements but really carefully executing each step as the book instructs. I have had fabulous results, so I think when the book says to do something a particular way, it means it. The cakes flavors have so far been wonderful and the textures ... full review(254)
