This is a young adult fantasy book with a electro-magnetic pulse as the McGuffin. Don't read this book looking for any level of realism, you won't find much. Where do I begin? First off these are the smartest and most level headed 16 year olds on the planet and they are also the luckiest. They have the smartest teacher ever who educates them all about EMP, gives them hundreds of dollars in cash, and then conveniently goes with the main group of students so these several teens can be super teens without adult supervision. The teacher going with the main group was at least realistic. This small group of teens soon get lucky breaks one after the other including finding two murdered cops. I don’t know where to start. I loved the writing and World building, This book pulled me right in.
This is the reason why I love indie writers while trying different books every once in a while you find an author with raw talent. The story doesn’t come together at some scenes but I think this author needs some more books and experience and that problem is gone.
The main character has everything I look for in a strong heroin she is kick-ass but real, she fights for the ones she loves and shows compassion even for the ones that do not deserve it.
