This book is an excellent federal courts text book. It is used by all of the professors who teach the class at my school, and is far superior to the other federal courts books I have read. Any lack of clarity stems from the complexity of the topic and not deficiencies in the authorship. I would highly recommend this book to any law student trying to learn federal courts.(4) -

Bottom Line: Well organized and well edited, but be sure to read the footnotes.
This book has chosen cases well and is up to date. There is very little textual material to read. Most of the book is cases and statutes with the author's original thoughts in the footnotes. So be sure to at least skim through those because info that would otherwise be in the text of another book is in the footnotes here. The book does a good job of refreshing Con Law and Civ Pro without going too far into those areas.(2)
