I only tried the nintendo part and the sound and pic were excellent. The consol and controlers are very lightweight but they seem to be able to last if not rough with your systems. I think this was an awesome buy. when putting the game in and taking it out, the game, you have to push/wiggle the game in, tight fitting. so far outstanding(73) -

I love my Vanguard. I was able to have the resolution on 1080p through the ps4 options. The speakers are very loud. One thing you need to know is that you have to turn on the Vanguard first before you turn on your system or it won't show. I also brought a split wire because the Vanguard needs to be connected through an outlet. So instead of using two different outlets I have the split wired to connect the ps4 and the Vanguard. This is a great product even if you're not traveling anywhere. It's very sturdy so your ps4 is safe in there. If you're going to travel with it just make sure to unplug all the wires. So it don't Crack your screen when you close it.(326) -

Just like what everyone else says, the controllers are as good as trash which I expected reading reviews but if you have separate controllers this thing is perfect. We have had it since Christmas no breakdowns,audio or video issues, no complaints just get separate controllers(71) -

OK so first off, I should say that I recently purchased a Hyperkin Retron 5 which was unfortunately broken upon arrival, and also has - for me - some serious downsides to its functionality. Since that arrived broken, I sent that back for a refund.
A week or so later I noticed the Retro Bit Super TRIO was also available and thought I'd give that a try instead - and I have to say, I'm much happier with this system for several important reasons.
The good stuff:
First and foremost, the Retro TRIO is a hardware based clone system so there is no discernable input lag when playing these games, whereas the Retron 5 uses an emulator running on an Android OS that did have noticeable input lag to me when I tried it. this is a great console for a great value. I bought the NES 150 games in 1 cartridge, and this console plays every game perfectly on my LED tv. No problems. No complaints. The cartridges are easy to pull out, so I don't know what people on here are talking about, maybe if they have the strength and incapabilities of a 1yr old they wouldn't be able to pull out the cartridge. my copy of mike tysons punchout plays perfect on this, and easy to insert/remove the cartridge. This console blows the NES classic out of the water with only 30 games and 1 controller. If you have any hesitation on getting this with the 150 in 1 over the limited NES classic, don't. I replaced my old system fat 80g that yellow lighted beyond repair. After fixing it with new heatsink paste, and lasting a while longer, I decided to spring for this as it was relatively cheap.
I never really used my original PS3 past Netflix and left it with my inlaws for such purposes. They left my original fatboy on all day and the fans would scream so loud you couldn't really hear the movie without a huge increase to sound. This new unit is always quiet, even after long usage. Although the disc player is louder than I would like, it is nowhere near as loud as the original PS3 fatboy's fans were. The bluray cover isn't as flimsy as I thought it would be. I got exactly what I wanted with the PS4 Slim...
-- An update to my Day-1 PS4. Mainly, a lighter console -- good aesthetically & easy to move around the few times I need to.
-- 5G WiFi support (excellent, I got 90mbps).
-- Super easy to install my 1TB Fusion drive (literally, 5 minutes).
This is not for everyone though. It's great for me because I'm very happy with my 2-yr old 1080p HDTV & Sound Bar & don't plan on updating to 4K until networks broadcast it regularly (or unless my TV stops working). I also don't use an optical output from my console. Therefore, the PS Pro would only cost me more for technology I won't use in the next 3-4 years & I much prefer the slimmer console.
Bottom line -- I gave it 5 stars because it delivers on ... full review(2,463)
